Good to see you back up. Informative discussions. I have to ask ... what happened as I see that some controversial threads have now disappeared?

The forum went online only accidentally.

I'm still waiting for some more information before the forum will be available again.

I apologize for any confusion; you'll get an update soon.

TelTalk is back up Empty Re: TelTalk is back up

Post by Alex 2012-12-23, 6:32 am

Recently I've been contacted by several parties from different parts of the world and acting independently from each other with the following issues:

    • Complaints about defamatory comments on TelTalk
    • Threats against TelTalk and against myself
    • Suspicions about duplicate accounts
    • Insulting my person

This resulted in following activities myself:

    • Temporarily shutdown of the forum during this week
    • Banning members with suspicious activities, especially with indications for duplicate accounts
    • Deletion of potentially infringing content
    • Getting legal consultation to get clarification for a legally safely operation of this forum in the future

For me as forum administrator it's not always easy to judge which comments from users are likely to be perceived by other parties as defamatory and to keep the balance with the right to free speech at the same time.

Since I've a clear conscience, these events are even more unpleasant for me, but I'm also aware that the content on a public forum must comply with the legal framework.

I'll watch the activities on this forum carefully to prevent happening anything similar again.

I apologize for any inconvenience this matter surely may have caused.

Please stay with us! We'll continue the service in the same way as before for everybody interested in .tel.

I would appreciate it very much if we can go back to a professional exchange of ideas about .tel domains!

    Merry Christmas to everyone!

    Alex...

"Every setback is a setup for a Greater Comeback"

Despite the unproductive activities of a few, the efforts of many in the .Tel ecosystem (for the most part) disregard "Non Value Added" activities and commentary to focus on the solutions and efforts that promote and drive excellence.

.Tel is strongest, most robust platform on the internet.

    It all starts here.

    Thanks for all you do.

    Regards

Good to see the forum is live again.

We read this forum regularly at least twice a day to get the correct picture of the .tel domains and all .tel related comments.

Hope everybody sticks to the forum's general rules for its smooth operation, as this service is something that everybody should appreciate.

Wishing you all A Merry Christmas.

Could you please make a hidden members only topic sticky that only you can post in that allows us to know exactly what url, partially [blanked] topic title, posted by whom, was removed at the request of you/outside party so we can at least see what people are whining/crying/threating legal action over, even without the context for the member sticky aka having the partially [blanked] title info and as much as you can legally provide would give us some perspective context, while sending the original poster a private message with the full message/context/text would be sufficient to keep us updated as to whom is allegedly/potently being attacked/stalked/watched outside of the direct complaint/threats to you.
    -
Because it's not good enough just to remove things as if we're not aware of what's disappearing we're likely doomed to repeat the same alleged infringing topic/point of view/rant and we wont at all get a chance to defend our opinions via our own legal action against those who don't want us to publish their alleged abuse here or after it was removed here via another site/blog/medium etc.
    -
I understand the need to remove content but please be careful that such individuals who want content removed are not flooding your inbox with requests via 3rd party proxies to allege that it's more than one person who is reporting so called bad behavior, I'm sure you're aware via the multiple account issue that just the same can be done as a tactic to intimidate and harass and so is it easy to allege multiple independent complaints with basic Internet technology.
    -
I would like to how you say to "go back to a professional exchange of ideas about .tel domains!" but not everything is easy and there will be times it's necessary to warn others about the behavior of outside/internal parties and so we need to know what was removed and why as much as we're legally allowed to.
    -
I'm basically asking for a http://www.chillingeffects.org/ sticky for teltalk removed content I of course am not asking you to send content to their site just a sticky here for stuff that gets removed aka a http://www.chillingeffects.org/notice.cgi topic.

@TelTalk/Alex - as the only forum (AFAIK) that discusses Telnames in detail, which as most of us are aware is the future direction of .tel, I am very pleased that you are back !

Best Wishes to all for .tel success in 2013 - it's taken a long time to get the focus right but it really does look as if Telnames is now achieving the market presence that .tel so desperately needs.

Just needs a Telnames Search Engine to end the year on a really positive note !
