It's definitely NOT me - but I do find it very odd that the new owner of TelTalk.org has chosen to hide their identity !Poseidon wrote:Conceivable possibilities:

Re: who in charge now
If we will answer the question "who was interested to buy it?" - then we will come nearer the name of a new owner.
Also, not the former owner proposed to broad public buying it, so most probably somebody had proposed him to buy the forum (if it was sold, of course).
By the way, the more interesting question: for how much this forum could (was) be sold? Your opinions?

That seems to imply that your privacy is necessary to avoid the clutches of Telnic/Telnames reaching out to you !Admin wrote:This will put no end to the speculations, but after getting access to the internal forum correspondence I need to protect my privacy. So given that your privacy is now protected, can we please have the "Too Hot for the Public" section put back to universal access, rather than only being available to logged-in forum members ?
Thanks in anticipation.

Re: who in charge now
I would think it's cheaper to flood google and other search engines with positive articles from many hign ranked tech/news sites that drop the ranking of those forums/sites and debunk what such forums say about their company, than to try to sue or do what banks etc in the US have done, bought up combinations of domain strings so such sites cant start in the first place.
However teltalk was not founded for complaints, it was founded for both sides positive and negitive aka to talk about tel, its not telfail.org, telsuck$.org etc so it would be hard for such a legal orientated person to claim it was founded in bad faith.
However like you said they laugh at those sites, the real fact is they dont even notice them in all likelyhood as they're too big and telnic/telnames is small so everything we say likely gets heard and taken to heart which is why we could be contributing to staff leaving via too much pressure and direct complaints that occur after we've talked, well after you've talked and I've posted a book.
I can understand why the new owner would want to hide, however I hope that this will be a temp thing as like telnic/telnames we're small and vunerable to attack from not just ourselfs squabbling over a point of view or some gossip but outside intrests which either don't care about tel and at which point engaging with this site for them and us becomes a trolling enviroment or engaging with this site by people who do care and us becomes a psyop enviroment due to gTLDs who have intrests in making tel fail.
I personally would prefer strong leadership, tel needs it and we need it so I hope that who ever bought or took on teltalk is willing to step forward once everyone decides to work together to build up this community regardless of what point of view we hold, because I feel once that is in place who ever owns it will be backed by a wide diverse group of professionals, business indeviduals and Joe and Jane Doe and so there would be less of a reason to hide and more of a reason to lead people towards resolutions on what they/we need out of tel and what ICANN should do about tel inthe long run as objections from a well informed and engaged community holds much more weight than a few indeviduals making ICANN complaints.
As this entire forum and community can be evidence towards making sure we get the service we need, by making everything offical and assigning ranks and trust to people we all choose(not me just here to talk/post) we can prove teltalk is not a bad faith registration but a real and officialy reconized community org by ICANN and other orgs/news sites etc.
So it's up to all of you, either we can hide in the shaddows and display a reason to miss trust this forum and its membership which leads to telnic/telnames and other proxies and domain registrars calling us cranks and complainers or you can use your tel and step up and build a window of trust between what we say and whos browsing/reading.
How can posting here be any worse than posting on facebook? at least here you have a legitimate format to talk upon, it's not all gossip it's your experiance, requests, needs and hopes, unfortunatly some of you hope tel will fail but negitive comes with the positive but would it not be better if it didin't fail? and you save it by being here and sharing thoughts that were not just doom and gloom?

Re: who in charge now
when I want to buy a software or some products from a company that I do not know, most of the time I check forum relative to that products, if I read so many bad feedback, I choose not to buy those products.
Most of you know my ideal.tel or movie.tel but behind those I am building up some more sites, and I can sure all of you that .tel is a good product, but .tel still a child and need to grow a lot more, it will be mature the day we do not need to use tools from third parties, even if we have to pay little more money for our domains.
I am working so hard building up .tel sites with tools from telcp and telmasters, but I am so worry that one day those guys say: "sorry mates we are quitting" all my projects could fall like coconuts.
We must in courage telnic to give us important tools in the CTH, so will be easier for everyone to start making money, and bring more investors and businesses.
We must use our comment here, and at telnic forum to push hard them in good way to give us those tools, for the good of the community, for the good of our projects, for the good of the new coming investors, and for the good of .tel and telnic's future
NOTE: thank very much to telmaster and telcp for their tools.
