@TELwax - Obviously I am not going to publish commercially confidential statistics on a public forum - but sufficient to say that I have seen 3 benefits from linking http://BoatFinder.tel to a sister site http://www.BoatSearchEngine.com

1. An increase in link juice to each country site on http://www.BoatSearchEngine.com generated by the equivalent country site on http://BoatFinder.tel - this extra link juice helps rank each country site on http://www.BoatSearchEngine.com higher in search engine results.

2. An increase in traffic to each of the country sites on http://www.BoatSearchEngine.com - this generates me more revenue.

3. AdSense revenue generated directly at http://BoatFinder.tel

This approach certainly works for me - at a running cost of around $10 per year !
