Many things I have read on this forum are just ridiculous. With a little bit of common sense everything is pretty much allegeable. Yes, no development at Telnic is happening. The reason: Telnic didn't reach the early targets and is trying something new with Telnames. It's very reasonable to wait for the first results at Telnames before a new change in strategy will happen again. Please accept that Telnic is making only a short break, because Telnic will continue after Telnames has become famous. Yes, the success didn't come over night. Only because we have observed the breathtaking success of Google and Facebook, it doesn't mean every new invention has to become a success over night too. Telnames is trying something new and it could really bring new stimulus into the mobile internet. Only two TLDs (.mobi and .tel) are built for the mobile internet and both stand still at the beginning. Nobody knows what the future will bring, but maybe mobile TLDs will be even more important than all other TLDs. Who knows?

Only 2 TLDs are built for the mobile internet? Piffle. Any extension can be used for mobile internet. They just require different coding and they can use as much content displayed anyway they choose.

Re: Be realistic about .tel
@telblogger,
you should have add ALSO that such coding is NOT POSSIBLE for mass market nor for Joe public.
The point is then that Joe public does not understand why if he buys a .dotsomething he should gointo specific coding or buy additionnal tlds such as a TN. (Unless you prove it to him , but talking to Joe public is not easy ).
Therefore 99.999% buys other TLds than TNs/TELs, but possibly some growing number of Joe and Joan public will understand or be tought that buying a TN is simple no pain no coding and resolve on all telephones with phone number immediately ready for CTA (Call to Action), which is NOT possible on other TLds without coding, even over dot mobi.
And that is the main goal for having a website for local SOHO businesses : 1. be found, 2.be called and 3. possibly sell online ( like pros of ecommerce).

Re: Be realistic about .tel
What is very open question is : 1. be found (other than your TEL be memorised )
