Review of the .tel promises Empty Review of the .tel promises

    1. .tel is SEO friendly:

    - Text can't be inserted.
    - Contact entries don't get indexed.
    - Rich content is impossible.
    - Search results for populated .tels are bad.

    2. .tel is user-friendly:

    - Only insiders can insert pictures and videos.
    - It's impossible to create a professional .tel site (exception: Telnames).
    - Users are confused about two separated offers (Telnic and Telnames).

    3. .tel is a global directory:

    - Telpages is like Google in beta.
    - No reasonable sorting of search results.
    - It's only possible to find a .tel if the domain name is known in advance.

    4. .tel will change the way to communicate:

    - The official .tel forum is hidden.
    - Exchange of ideas is unwanted.
    - Telnic refuses to response since years.
    - People don't know .tel.
    - The (already low) registrations are falling quickly.

    5. .tel is open source:

    - Nobody is allowed to take part.
    - No active developer is left.
    - Telnic prevents every development.

    6. .tel is transparent and open:

    - Telnic hides the connection to Telnames.
    - Nobody knows what is going on.
    - .tel is suffering from loss of trust.

@Sunrise - when you put it like that - and I think it's really hard, even for die-hard .tel enthusiasts, to disagree with the vast majority of your comments - it does look like Telnic has a death wish !

Why The **** can't Telnic take a leaf out of Apple's book:
Give Customers What They Want (Or Can Be Persuaded To Desire) And They Will Keep Coming Back For More !

I've never come across a company before that seems so hell-bent on alienating what could be a powerful ecosystem of software developers, domain investors, power users and (most importantly) their resale channel of 122 registrars !

They don’t have a death wish. Telnic don’t understand that users don’t want a 10 year old design and Telnames don’t understand that users don’t want a website that is undetectable on the internet.

Telnic must think all forum members are smart-arses and can't accept that these forum nags could be right!
Telnic wants to show that the current way is the right one; doesn't matter how much the domain regs are suffering.

You know what they say: "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again"

Well Telnic has tried that, so maybe they should take Mark Twain's version:

"If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then give up. There's no sense being a damn fool about it."

As so many have - reluctantly - been forced to do already !

It shouldn't really be necessary to me to state this:

WITHOUT NEW & REPEAT CUSTOMERS A BUSINESS HAS NOTHING - AND BECOMES WORTHLESS VERY QUICKLY !

PS. "Nothing" - there may be "cash in the bank" - but it doesn't last for ever !
