    Telnic / Telnames ignores all fundamental customer needs Empty Telnic / Telnames ignores all fundamental customer needs

    Only some basic requirements:

    1.) SEO
    2.) Enabling customers to find domains
    3.) Possibility to create traffic
    4.) Insertion of a lot of rich content
    5.) Adding text as much as desired

    No registrant of a .tel domain can do any of these things!

    1, 4, and 5 above have nothing to do the "point" of .tel versus other tlds.

    .tel was created as an "address page" accompanied by basic text information.

    Telpages was supposed to take care of 2, 3 above after that.

    "address page" or "basic profile" (.tel domain page) - found in an "address book" or "basic profile directory" (.tel domain directory)

    STILL hasn't happened, this simple concept people believed Telnic could and would deliver.

    The masses are used to an "address page" or "basic profile" with more enhanced features, i.e. pics, video, etc., so Telnames was born, and wisely so.  No all they need is a Telnames directory and they have a chance.

    Visit the following link if you are misinformed about what .tel is:

    http://archive.icann.org/en/tlds/stld-apps-19mar04/tel-telnic.htm

    Pay close attention to the following paragraph(s):

    2.4.3.1. Rich content

    Communications is moving from a one-dimensional simple voice oriented world,
    into a multi-dimensional and rich IP based communications environment that
    provides scope for exciting new content. However, end users need this content
    to be easily accessed through a DNS text based naming and navigation structure,
    which is presently unavailable.

    2.4.3.2. Universal communication identifier

    End users are finding it increasingly difficult to remember and manage their
    own and other people's communication identifiers, including:

    * home telephone numbers

    * mobile telephone numbers

    * home fax numbers

    * personal email addresses

    * pager numbers

    * work telephone numbers

    * work telephone extension numbers

    * work email addresses

    * work fax numbers

    * instant messaging addresses

    * and other contact information

    Hence, there is a need for a universal text based communication identifier
    under which the end user can store all their contact information
    .

    Sorry, but if I try to find those contact numbers of a person, I'll go to his .com, but not to his .tel!

    (... because it's impossible to find his .tel - even if he owns one!)

    Well most people don't own a .com, but even if they did you would have to hunt through Google and then the website to find it.

    .tel genius was to have an easy way to find the addresses for all your stuff, telephone, facebook, physical address, etc.

    The geniuses just failed to follow through on their genius tld, with a genius tld directory.  They had, and still have, the upper hand with their idea, and just refuse to come up with a decent directory where people can find a .tel ... you said it right:

    "(... because it's impossible to find his .tel - even if he owns one!)"

    It's been said by everyone since "Day 1" -

    Apply your "genius idea of a profile need" to "a directory for your genius tld" and then you'll succeed.

    The closest they have come is to create a .tel directory that is trashed with subdomains, and so now you'll never actually find a .tel registrant and his telephone number without looking as hard as you would in Google, or worse ... brilliant, eh?

    Take the diamonds out of the dung heap and throw them in a pile of trash to find ... brilliant strategy.

    Telnames makes a fantastic diamond page, now they just need a good diamond search engine to get people to care!

    I got your point, but Facebook is for free. It's impossible to convince the masses to switch to a £14.95 offer instead - and that without any fun factor.

    Absolutely, but people and businesses tend to trust those things that people are invested in monetarily above those that are free.

    If I was serious about the information I needed, I wouldn't trust a free Facebook page over a pay Directory.  I would also feel more inclined to keep the information updated if I pay for it in a serious directory, just like YellowPages style, especially if it's verified information.
