Big deal? I could never work out why a lot of otherwise seemingly intelligent people panic about the amount of .tel names being dropped, yes a lot of the names would appear to be ice cream, I have a few myself, however compared to the other TLD's I don't think it's as bad as one would think. People equate a drop with a dissatisfaction in the name or service, as Telnic is a fixed service any drops that are not ice cream domains, impact physiologically more than a domain name that could be developed. I have checked the drop list once and only once I was worried about one was someone who was using for a "personal" contact card, because I feel if the main use is for a contact card and that person is dissatisfied and not renewing it. I would say it's physiological impact weighed against a few .com domains that could be developed is more due to .tel being fixed service. But that's just one, if 20-30 drop I think it would be physiologically like 60-80 .com drops. |
