.tel domains registered 22/12/2010

Looking on www.dottel.net today, great to see there was 4209 registered on 22/12/2010

I look at this site daily and this is the most domains I have seen registered in any one day

Would be great to see this many .tel domains registered every day !

dottel.net12-22-2010 02:50 PM

Firstly - thanks for using the site, glad you find it useful.

Secondly, that is indeed the largest daily reg count we've seen in a loooong time. Interestingly the bulk of that 4k are IDN regs. IDN reg count has gone from 6k to over 10k.
Chinese usage and registration of tels finally picking up??

You can see the IDN reg count in the center square of http://dottel.net

I check the site every day, the last couple of weeks numbers have fluctuated a fair bit, this one day however was massive, any idea where most of these originate such as the XN ones.

Bunjie, there's a post somewhere which states something along these lines, that Macau yellow pages is to give every citizen a dottel address.
Check out the link where this place is, cheers.

I wonder how this type of arrangement would impact on directory builders if it were to be replicated by yellow page providers in other countries.

Hi tindaya - we've been investigating this issue with help from telnic.

It appears the dottel.net count has been excluding registrations from TelChina which have a different zone entry. Now that we've identified the issue we will be issuing a patch tonight and the numbers should be the same across all sites that publish tel registrations as the source file is the same from telnic.

Sorry for any confusion! Good news is that the overall count is higher then what we thought

Thanks a lot.
I think the process in China is very important and I hope that now will be china, later Rusia, Japan ...

as its the renewal period, i do expect the april numbers to be down against march... we won't know the full extent of the drops till end of april.

yes, but these numbers indicate march already being down against february.
the 2 letter .tels will bring some much needed boost. and some publicity
lets get things moving along here. quarter 1 has been and gone.
telnic may be able to shed some light on these numbers if incorrect?
have all the yellow pages companies from the PR's added their registrations yet?

Cees04-02-2011 07:30 PM

Whilst this is not great I actually feel slightly encouraged as I thought the number of drops would have been a lot higher, however April is yet to deliver.
