    Moving domains

    To whom it may concern,

The only way to transfer a domain into a VAR account from a different registrar is to let it expire and then re-register. To this end I am dropping quicklookmedia.tel and nationalartandcraft.tel tonight, and will be re-registering them through my VAR account. Please resist any temptation to purchase them. I hold trademark registrations for both.

    Thank you.

Thanks for the heads up John. Let me know how that process works for you.

Thanks for the reply Dan. Mission accomplished. It's a nuisance that we can't just transfer them, though.

    Kind regards,

    Roy

I'ts a highly irregular situation, that domains are getting snapped up (when to simply transfer, behing forced to drop then attempt to re register into a new account)

This is a rough process in its current state. We would like to do the same thing with some of our domains but clients do not want to 1. Lose the registration age and 2. Lose control of the relationship with the Registrar which in this case would belong to Parent Account holder.

There are still some unruly vultures out there buying up good .Tel domains with the hope of "Flipping" them for profit which I see as a losing battle. It is these same people that we would fear being the ones that would try to snap up a quick drop in this process just to get a quick profit.

So in the meantime, we have been forced to come up with workarounds and a little creativity especially since some people are hiding their names on registration records (not using third party privacy).

In the long run, it takes a little more on my end to convince clients to remain by offering them other add ons from our suite of other services. But for now, this is small price to pay for some level of peace of mind and access to a solid platform.

I am confident that all will work out soon. We all just have to keep plugging away at it.

    Respectfully,

Dan, many thanks for your quick reply and welcome to the forum.Who is the new CTO ? I gather Henri is no longer in situ.

    Many thanks.

I have seen no official communications regarding this assumption and have no reason to believe that Henri has left an agency that he help to build. Hope that helps.

    Thanks
