Probably Telnames want to attract newbies with these coupons. As soon they get used by domain investors instead, they cancel the service.

Maybe that's the reason, but most domain startup businesses with 729 sales (according to the http://www.dottel.net TN figure today) would welcome and encourage several thousand potential new registrations coming from domain investors !

A large number of domain investors are currently letting their "second tier" .tels drop, on the reasonable assumption that most will still be available to be re-registered in a year or two should they wish, and are just hanging onto their premium (mostly 1-word) keyword domains.

.COM has certainly flourished with the huge involvement of both domain investors and software developers.

Can Telnic/Telnames afford to lose their involvement with the .TEL Project ?
