I saw that first airing during the game on Television. Most people think they hurt .co with that one ! Was even conspiracy theory chatter. I see your point though, it's known and being discussed either way ! ;) |
I thought it was a flop ! Booo. Better not to have that association at all. |
complete flop. boring. |

Exactly ! Since the SuperBowl ad millions of potential buyers realise they can currently pick up a DotCo domain for around $10 whilst the equivalent DotCom may cost thousands of dollars - assuming of course the owner is willing to sell. I have picked up some excellent DotCo high value keyword domains in the last couple of days and will be creating sister sites with them to go with the corresponding DotTels I already own. Total cost for DotTel + DotCo approx 20 bucks a year (at current special DotCo offer price). Mike Seaton |

I have the Yellow Names triple threat now, for protection purposes. YellowNames.com/YellowNames.tel/YellowNames.co Maybe if .TEL gets it together we can capitalize while the other 2 duke it out. Their confusion is .TEL's gain ! :) |

Good move Telrific - I have done the same - purchased the DotCo for my critical DotCom/DotTel sites. DotCo does seem to be going places - the value of the current DotCo surge will become clearer on 17 February once Sedo's Premium Generic DotCo auction finishes - the link on http://tinyurl.com/SedoAuctionSchedule gives the DotCo Auction inventory. Yes, I've had my eye on that auction too. Will be watching 10-17. |
I picked up a .co http://bunjie.co because DM gave out a coupon, but admittedly I don't like it I'm still with the whole .com mindset hard to shift myself. I was actually more interested in http://bunj.ie but they only allow residents of Ireland to make registrations with proof of right to ownership and I'm not moving to Ireland.... Now I have nothing I want to do with it it's not part of my plan, I guess I'll sit on it and hope the price comes down after this year before renewal.... and pray it's not a fad which it seems to be a bit of over hyped madness. Also interesting to see http://telnic.co is advert squatted... |

Here's the link to the Live DotCo Auction - http://tinyurl.com/SedoDotCoAuction - quite a lot of bids already with over 5 days to go. Mike Seaton |

Looks like quite a few around $5,000 early. You know how auctions go, they don't really heat up until closer to the close of course, but as you say, certainly some early interest. None of the ones with a reserve have been met yet. Slower start than I would have thought given the hype and the promotions. As with .TEL, it's hard to get premium results when there are good ones at registration level pricing. Buyers have to be willing to fight for the "one" to drive prices higher, will see in a few days ! :) |
I note http://Casino.co leads the bids at http://tinyurl.com/SedoDotCoAuction with 11,000 USD and 3 days to go - though the reserve price is in .com territory at 100,000 - 249,999 USD. I wonder what it would take to get Sedo - the world's biggest domain marketplace - to run a .tel auction for premium names along the lines ofhttp://tinyurl.com/SedoDotCoAuction It would be useful publicity for .tel if Telnic could persuade Sedo to run an auction for the new "short name" .tels recently approved. In the "grand scheme of things" a look at the .CO Auction so far show it's a flop like the Super Bowl Commercial -- and it was a Street Success going in ... .tel in the "grand scheme of things" would be a Street Failure going in, so ... Quote:
... I think that .tel needs more time to get a good Premium Auction response. It's going to take 4 basic things done well for .tel to blossom to that level. 1. It's Position on the Internet Realized (phonebook of listings vs. googlebook of websites) 2. It's Position Success (Successful TelPages Global Directory) 3. It's Listing Success, Personal or Business (TelPage Style / Registrant Value) 4. Ease of Use (Wizard, Etc.) At least Telnic has 3. and 4. on the Roadmap this year ! Unfortunately that still leaves 1. and 2. untouched with ALL FOUR needed for a Premium Auction Success for .tel because it's unique. :) |
Home Stretch ... Well, with less than 24 hours to go in the Sedo .CO Premium Name Auction only 1 has finally hit its reserve price, probably a Sedo Bid. http://sedo.com/search/searchresult.php4?language=us Guess the big spenders are waiting to snap up Premium .TEL Names. Must have finally figured out that out of over 1,100 tld's that .TEL is the only Premium value. Yeah, that's it ... Or it's something else ... Will see in less than 24 hours who steps up for what, but I would still call it a flop if HUNDREDS of names were available and only a few sold ... |
Quick note on the .CO auction, and as it pertains .TEL Out of 200+ Premium Domain Names Auctioned: Less than 10 hit their Reserve Price - Ouch ! Must Be The Economy ! .TEL has hope !
