Vodafone & Orange need .telling !

Vodafone & Orange have registered their respective .tel domains - see http://www.easywhois.com/?domain=vodafone.tel &http://www.easywhois.com/?domain=orange.tel

But they have done nothing with them - have a look at http://Vodafone.tel and http://Orange.tel

Is it possible that Telnic could offer to populate the two domains for these major Telcos with phone/email/fax etc. details of all their offices ?

It would probably only take a Telnic staff member a day or so to do, but the benefit to the .tel cause would be significant.

As it stands the two domains are giving the impression that these Telcos aren't interested - they just need .telling and a helping hand from Telnic !

Yes, great idea Mike. Things are in a sorry state with large company use of .tels. Does anyone know of any large or even not so large companies using their .tel to its fullest.

I had a run in with Dialaflight; a UK leading travel company. I bought Dialaflight.tel and was told by them not to use it as they had the trademark. I transfered it to them and even offered to populate it for them, this is what they did to it http://dialaflight.tel/.

Now I know this isn't a huge company by Apple, or Microsoft standards, but what the hell, if they can't be bothered to even link to their main web site, things are bad. Not sure that a new template or the odd bell or whistle here and there are going to be enough incentive for them to use it. Nothing short of a major TV and Media advertising campaign will bring .tel to the forefront quickly. At the moment it's just a useful to some, also ran, tld.

I still believe .tel has unique value and am sure the guys at Telnic do too, whether that will be in it's current state or in other uses for the DNS data technology, only time will tell.

Still enjoying the ride though, and making a few pounds on the way. Will continue to do my bit in whatever small way I can to promote it. Would be good to hear from Telnic a bit more often though.

http://schuh.tel and http://itv.tel are good examples of .tel usage by companies - their .tel contact info also comes up perfectly on TelDial (on both desktop and mobile versions) at http://itv.teldial.com and http://schuh.teldial.com

http://telnic.teldial.com doesn't look bad either - though not sure why it's taking so long to implement Google AdSense on mobile phones - took me about 10 minutes to add two 320x50 pixel AdSense Mobile format ads to TelDial Mobile, so that I can keep TelDial a free service.

    What a waste of a .tel at http://dialaflight.tel !

One of their competitors shows how it should be done at http://CheapFlights.tel - driving Free Traffic to their main sites athttp://www.CheapFlights.co.ukhttp://www.CheapFlights.com etc.

Justin, I'm sure it's just co-incidence, but I'm impressed with the speed of response to the bolded text above in your announcement today reAdSense and tweaks to smartphone template !
