    Save a TEL to my smartphone as an app - Idea

    What do you think about this? -

    I am John Public with a smart phone. A few companies whom I deal with regularly have TELs to which I would like to refer from time to time, without having to go through the steps of loading the browser etc.

    What I think would be cool is a function on the TELs which says "Make this TEL an App" or something like that.

    I select that function once and that specific TEL from then on appears on my screen as a simple Icon. I need that company's tel, I touch the Icon and the TEL loads ....

    ?

    @Gibran,

    You can probably save the sites to your favourites and then add it to the home screen. If the site has a logo you should see it as an icon, if no logo then I think it depends on your mobile as to the look of the icon.

    I tell all my customers that they don't need an app for my sites - they just follow that simple procedure.

    You can definitely do it with IPhones and HTC Androids.

    Yes the icons look very well on the iPhone home screen - and are handy for quick access to directories.[/size]
