Why I can't find anything on TelPages?

    Obsolescent

Thanks for raising, Jens, it seems there is an issue if you hit a specific Telpages nameserver. We're looking into the cause.

My user in Ireland wasn't able to search either, but I can from Canada.

Just tried this out myself (from the UK) and can confirm the results shown in post #1.

Doing the search with Net-Link Tel Search brings up 114,000 results pages for the query Telnic

Aled, if a specific name server is failing, shouldn't there be an error message to the user to either try again later, or at minimum please contact telnic.org ?

A message as suggested above should also of course apply to a .tel which has a nameserver problem - not sure if it currently does ?

In my recent experience a few days ago, one gets a red error message
Unfortunately we could not reach the domain's TelHosting servers. Please try again later.
But it appears that Telnic has to go through logs to find out the cause. I think there should be an automatic trigger direct to Telnic HQ saying something is wrong. It shouldn't take us few users to inform Telnic that they have a problem.

Totally agree - bit surprised this isn't a standard feature when accessing nameservers.

Just to clarify, this isn't a nameserver failure and that isn't what I said above. We absolutely and obviously know if a Nameserver fails. We also have numerous alerts and warnings in place for less serious issues.

The situation which is occurring at the moment relates to results being returned if a specific nameserver is sending the request. As mentioned, we are investigating the cause and looking to resolve as soon as possible.

    Excellent!

We have deactivated the specific nameserver nodes that are causing the issue while we investigate those further, so results now should once more be correct for everyone. Please let me know if that isn't the case (after you have refreshed).

Aled, was this specific failure detected automatically or did we inform you?

Very nice example of .tel integration - although nothing to do with TelPages !

Shows the real use of .tel - pulling data by other software programs from the DNS (via Telnic's hosted service in this case).

If you want to do the same yourself, here's the link that tells you how - http://telnic.org/tools-website-integration.html

Jens - what is the url when you perform the search and get these results?

    Thanks

We'll investigate. Let me know if you see it again please.

    Thanks
