Your .tel mobile-friendly website from Telnames is a great way of bringing your CV to life and keeping people up to date with what you’re doing right now. Potential employers will always be able to get in contact, no matter how many times you change address or phone number.

A personal .tel mobile website is a great way for further education students and job seekers actively on the market to keep in touch with prospective employers and recruitment agencies. Why not upload a PDF of your most up-to-date CV, create a video testimonial, or upload pictures of your latest voluntary project?

    What’s the challenge?

In today’s employment climate, recruitment agencies and employers are keeping good candidate CVs on file. When they have a vacancy that fits your skill set, they need to get in touch fast.

Creating a personal profile with a .tel website is a great way to ensure potential employers have your latest contact information. What’s more, they can instantly download your most recent CV and check out what new skills or work experience you’ve added to your portfolio. Check out http://rav.tel/ for a great example of a university undergraduate profile.

With a .tel website you’re free to build a ‘living’ profile that gives potential employers a real feel for the person you are, and what you have to offer their organisation. It’s a great way to stand out from the candidate crowd.

    Practical steps and top tips

With a personal .tel website you’ve got plenty of scope to present your skills and attributes in a truly creative way that demonstrates your grasp of the power of social media.

Why not record a video of yourself talking to camera, explaining your key attributes and qualities? If you’ve been volunteering or working as an intern, perhaps you could ask if your sponsors would be happy to appear in a short video testimonial for you?

You can also list your key skills and qualifications – giving employers an instant snapshot of what you could bring to their organisation.

Plus, if you already have a professional profile on social media sites such as LinkedIn, you can link to it form your .tel site so potential employers and recruitment agencies can get a more detailed insight of your work experience to date.

    Gaining a competitive edge

Wherever you are – even if you’re undertaking a project overseas or undertaking your initial job enquiries while on a Gap year – potential employers can instantly view your latest CV and click-to-call or email you.

What’s more, with a personal .tel you can keep recruitment agencies up-to-date with your latest projects and any new skills you’ve acquired along the way – great if you’re looking for short term placements. Or keep agencies notified when you’ll next be available and get interviews for that next contract lined up!

Presenting yourself in a professional way is key to making an impression with employers, creating a personal .tel website makes you stand out and shows you mean business.

The CV of the former intern at Telnames gives a good inside about the activities from Telnames:

    Telnames
    June 2012-October 2012
Data/ Research Analyst Using customer data to identify:
    - trends for use by the marketing department - showcase examples
    - any potential user interface issues - customer knowledge gaps and subsequent creation of materials (user guides and multimedia) to supply the necessary information

    Software Tester at Telnic Ltd
    August - September 2009 (2 months)
    Testing software on different systems.
    Developing programmes.
    Increasing brand awareness.

The question is why Telnames didn’t support this great idea by producing such video instead of putting Margaret Thatcher on the telname.

Love his/it's background, it looks a lovely place to live, theres an idea we get offered a few backgrounds at telnames, to keep the selection perceived as small they could take your geo location and offer a high quality picture of whatever is popular near there or in your city/town.
