Tel Statistics now available - in Beta

I'm pleased to announce the launch of the new service - TelStats https://telstats.nic.tel.

This service enables you to login with your TelFriends credentials and see statistics for your .tel domain(s) between now and May 27th. You will see a log file that can easily be parsed by any web analyzer. The data includes web visits only, not lookups from devices or custom applications.

The service is currently in Beta, so all feedback and error reports are welcome here.

    Stats Log

This is great. I see my stats for 2 domains (3000+ hits). Now is there a way to bulk register of all of my domains at once into telfriends, or at least can I write a script to do it?

A suggestion on the login panel is to ask the Challenge Question also.

    nadya06-12-2009 04:06 PM

Hi. If you used the same credentials to register multiple .tel domains, all of them are added to TelFriends once you add at least one.

Yes, I agree that would be great. However, how does the system know what your challenge question is before you submit your username? And if you submit your username/password and then ask for security question (the way it's done in the .tel control panel), this becomes a two-step process, which is potentially overly complicated for a simple log retrieval. What do you say? I am open for discussion.

Use Ajax to validate userid+password first then feedback the challenge boxes?

    nadya06-12-2009 04:21 PM

Yes, that's how the control panel does it. We'll keep this idea as a future improvement. Remember, it's a Beta.

Most of my domains were added via name.com using the same credentials, but I have to add each one individually to Telfriends. Please explain how I can get all to appear. This will save me hours.

    Howard06-12-2009 05:04 PM

Mark, can you mail me some examples of ones that you've had to add individually to TelFriends but have the same credentials. I'll need to investigate, because as Nadya states they would normally all be pulled into the same TelFriends account automatically.

If you could send to community@telnic.org.

Same issue at my end with Name.com as well - have to do each one individually...

Not surprise to see the adult names on the list, but my question here is how this relates to .tel. Makes no sense as if these were mobile searches a .com will satisfy the need including cellphone porn. I always thought .tels to be more appropriate for services than can be rendered, not streaming of videos. Say, the chinesehoroscope search fits perfectly well to .tels in my view. For adult, .com's are superior in my view as mobile traffic becomes more and more off portal.

Porn sites are probably all 900 pay as your talk phone numbers listed suitably in the linked TELs; I don't own these, they are found via tweet2.tel SEO adult implementations and get tracked on my site.

900 services is a good match... if you could only register every single female name on the planet, haha.

    HI Dotteller,

I've asked Mark to ask Name.com about their specific configuration with regards to creating contacts. This can affect the behaviour of TelFriends. I'll let you know when I hear anything more.

I've emailed Name.com twice for support in 2 days and no reply. Normally they are very quick - a couple of hours.
