    Upcoming drops of .tel domains Empty The most expensive .tel domain sales have been dropped or will be dropped!

    These have been the most expensive .tel domain trades from the past:

    1.) Storage.tel sold July 2009 for $ 3,950 at Sedo.com is still owned by its buyer.
    2.) Hire.tel sold April 2009 for $ 3,000 at Sedo.com has been dropped and was caught on 30th April 2012.
    3.) Seitensprung.tel (German for "affair") sold July 2009 for € 1,500 at Sedo.com has the status "pending delete".
    4.) Brisbane.tel sold July 2009 for $ 1,692 as private sale has been dropped and was caught on 24th April 2012.

    3 out of 4 buyers decided to let their internet properties go for nothing without any kind of revenue!

    These are amazing drops, it makes you wonder what people think when they pay these prices initially, to just drop them in 3 years is astonishing. Storage.tel is hardly a great advert for storage.com. How do these businesses survive.

    Watching .tel domain sales it's obvious the market has come to a standstill, since no trades have happened during the last 2 years anymore!

    When .tel entered the market in 2009 early participants expected new communication solutions which lead to new channels for their prospects and customers.

    Today we know these haven't come yet, but perhaps they will come within the next years.

    After spending a big amount for a .tel domain, the wisest thing to do is to keep it for just $ 10 yearly and hope the missing popularity will come later.

    I set up a .tel for a well known Stately home a year ago with all their staff and contacts on it. When asked to renew this year, they said not to bother, it had a maximum of 90 hits a month and they didn't even consider it worth the £10 to renew. They instead have paid several hundreds of pounds to re-build their web site and contact page with forms that collect information and contacts from visitors in a uniform and easily useable way. Had .tel a contact form and payment integration it would be a real contender for business use. The only uses left that I can see are for mobile phone business cards and small niche directories.

    That can't be everything!

    The technology from Telnic has only benefit when widespread. Therefore we need three things:

    1.) Joint ventures with well-known services (Apple, Google, Facebook)
    2.) More stunning design of .tel domains with many more comprehensive features
    3.) Extended interaction with developers, SMBs, individuals and telecommunication service providers

    If we stay where we are, .tel won't have any significance in the future!

    Yea that's a problem but that's their fault for not changing the decals on their vans, cars, updating their cards, other marketing to .tel plus .tel works best if you advertise it, it won't advertise itself it only ranks in search and the more people search it the more it ranks up for those search terms.

    So the trick is to get people to google your keywords and long tail keywords and then only click on the .tel, you can pay for facebook likes, and twitter followers so why can't you pay for blackhat .tel webbot clicks? to drive you up the rankings as more relevant?

    Can you imagine any better domain name relating to .tel (beside Call.tel or Calling.tel)?

    Peter Horn has cleaned his portfolio with IDN .tel domains. In addition domains for attorneys and tax accountants in every German city will expire today.
    Good to know the recent drops include the reduction of very big portfolios already, so no further big drop numbers can be expected.

    Sensible move !

    Many .tel investors (including myself) are letting a lot of "second-tier" .tels drop to save the renewal cost, and just renewing the premium ones.

    With the current lack of .tel marketing, leading to a flat demand for .tels, it is perfectly feasible that you will be able to re-register 80-90% of these dropped domains in the future should you so wish - and in the meanwhile save a huge amount in renewal costs.

    I was checking drops then looked at registrations and someone just reg Perrymoore.tel I used to run a fan blog of hero a book he wrote that was going to be a tv series and just before he died someone alleging to be him sent me a thanks letter and asking / thanking his fans stuff.

    Maybe it's a different Perry Moore or his estate but it brings back some memory's for me so it was nice to see that in todays registrations.

    Who cares for dropping TEL domains? Only those still with hopes that general public will perceive the TEL domain as something "great". It is not great. It is yet another CMS website, and nothing else.

    You can spend your time by doing something useful, or you can spend your time by registering TEL domains.
