.tel Superbook no more working?

Until some months ago the program worked well.

Now, attempting to use again the program, I have found that it doesn't work anymore.

Each search returns as result "no results".

Also the search of my sites returns a "no results".

On a LG Optimus Black (Android 2.2.2) and a Motorola Milestone (Android 2.1)

?????

Silvano, I have the Superpages app and it is working fine on iphone 4. Did you download the latest from the app store?

silvano04-30-2012 10:28 PM

Thanks Aliencafe.

Sorry. In the rush to write I forgot to specify the smartphones that I use. Android...

aliencafe04-30-2012 10:42 PM

Silvano- yes I noticed you did write Android- thanks I missed that.

It seems to be working fine for the iPhone. Not sure about android..

Anyone else have an Android device ?

Silvano,

An update to the Android Superbook App was released on Friday. Could you install this and check to see if you still have an issue please?

Thanks,
Aled

silvano06-06-2012 10:05 PM

Thanks for your interest, Aled.

I installed the new version of Android Superbook and, yes, now it works again well.

Just a curiosity.

If I search for "Telnic", I find "Keep Your - http://keepyour.tel/ - Template 3 Example". If I click for inserting this entry in Superbook, the app close suddendly with an error message.

It happened with the Motorola Milestone (Android 2.1 italian and old version of Superbook) and happens with a LG Optimus Black (Android 2.2.2 italian and new version of Superbook),

It happens ONLY with "keepyour.tel". Curious and strange.

It's the android situation of serious "fragmentation". You cannot hope to write an app for android and deliver on updates. With Apple, at least you know as a developer that almost 90% of all idevices will be updated (and be able to more importantly) to latest software by active users.

Facebook overlay (phone) may be a gamechanger though.
However...
Out of the box, facebook "home" apps said to NOT cater to morethan half of existing android devices. Omg!.
Will that force half-baked facebook users to buy a compatible NEW android device?
Or will Facebook users dump Facebook entirely for another social apps/tool?
Btw, Facebook "home" not announced for apple devices. (There goes another 50% of total market share)

Interesting times.

Apple just needs it's own search engine. (Siri still in beta. Telnic could give away .tels as THE contact data search department SIRI consulted)
Dump google for good
Now that would be huge!

I prefer pears, cherries, peaches, apricots, strawberries...

Seriously, I do not like the "closed" world of Apple

Facebook Home is a serious threat for the little that remains of our privacy. We should think twice before installing it on our devices.

Telfriends is great for privacy.
seems a bit complicated though to get up and running and being tied into the who.is (surely there's a better way)

The closed world of apple is 99.999% virus/malware free.
Android now has 98% of the malware apps ever written.
In this light, apple is a very good policeman!
