    Testing on Mobile phones

Just read http://www.telnic.org/forum/showthread.php?t=551 which prompted me to ask if and how people test their sites and .tels on mobile devices. You might have the odd iPhone and Blackberry type device to try it out firsthand. But what about the millions of other phones old and new out there, I was very curious and a while ago I stumbled upon this http://wap-proof.com/wap_browser_download.php it's probably an old site but the downloaded shareware works fine, it's great for a first impression look at your site, have a look at Dial a Room on 9 different old mobiles. I also found this great Forum.Nokia site http://www.forum.nokia.com/Technolog...Device_Access/
You have to register, but it allows you to book 30 min slots on emulators of all Nokia phones. I use it a lot. see for Dial a Room on the Nokia testing devices. What you see as soon as .tel shows on your phone is very important, I try to make sure a header, a short instruction and at least a phone number is in view, not always possible, but too much text to scroll through, before you get to the info is very off putting.

How do you test your .tels?

Here's a useful site http://mobiforge.com/emulators/page/mobile-emulators with a lot of info about different mobile phone emulators.

Thanks Mike that is good. The reason I like http://wap-proof.com/wap_browser_download.php is that it has some really old mobiles on it, once you download the shareware, you enter the url into a text box and you can just flick between 21 different older phones to see what it looks like on the first screen. I sometimes find it awkward navigating some of the other emulators.

    iPhone tester

Here's an iPhone tester I came across on another forum, http://iphonetester.com/
not sure how it compares to the real thing.
    Cheers
