Make Money with Affiliate Links on Dot Tel Domains

It's very easy to create text-based affiliate links on Dot Tel domains to create additional revenue to that earned from Google AdSense.

I would recommend not using the long ugly affiliate URL but either doing your own redirect using a dotcom (or other TLD domain) that you own or alternatively use the services of http://TinyURL.com which is free.

Two domains I have for sale - http://AnalogueWatches.tel and http://DiscountGolf.tel are examples of how I use my own dotcom to redirect affiliate links.

It's easy, it's quick to implement, and you can sign up for free at affiliate portals such as http://www.cj.com andhttp://www.tradedoubler.com - an advantage of using an affiliate portal is that you get access to a huge number of merchants and also that payments are aggregated so the payment threshold is reached quicker.

Give it a go!

Very good reminder Mike, it wasn't that long ago it was all we had wasn't it !

I took it one step farther using a standard url forwarder and subdomains for merchants to hide the ugly url, but the idea is the same for sure.

Sorry, I don´t understand. Is possible to put the ugly url, in the subdomain? I understand http://TinyURL.com , but I don´t understand what you want to say with the subdomain. Can you put an example where we can see it? I think the idea is create a subdomain that direct to de ugly url, but I think is not possible, no?
Only is for to learn, because I think this is very, very interest theme.

It´s about to shorten long URL´s. Instead of writing "http://impes.tradedoubler.com/imp?type(js)g(18858924)a(1565693)", you write "tinyurl.com/dsiush" p.e.

You need to create the short url by using services provided by webs like tinyurl.com.

www.shortener.es is a site with a compilation of those services, withouth needing ID and password.

I use www.x.co which is free and you can assign your own 5-10 character vanity tags, eg x.co/FREEBEER

"using the subdomain" is simply doing this:

Rather than having this ugly url link:

www.dpbolvw.net/click-3357209-10862580whatever

You can use a shortener like was described by others above:

Or simply register a single domain name as suggested by others above:

www.mydotteladlink.com (redirects to) www.dpbolvw.net/click-3357209-10862580whatever

(This would be very expensive if you registered a domain name for every url forward)

So, I simply used one registered domain, but use subdomains to get many forwards for many referral programs:

Registered one Domain Name: telverified.com

Then:

www.(subdomain).telverified.com

www.stocktrading.telverified.com (redirects to) www.dpbolvw.net/click-3357209-10862580whatever
www.etrade.telverified.com (redirects to) www.dpbolvw.net/click-3357209-10862580whatever

Example:

I went ahead and set up a 100% Live .TEL that BONO could be proud of !

It uses:

PayPerCall Referral (Telephone Record)
Subdomain URL Redirect (Website Record)
Image Ad URL Redirect (Side 250x250)

GetSTDTested

If TelPages.com were properly promoted, you would have many successful .TEL's using
these type of Domain Names in addition to successful Individual and Business Domain Names getting calls, etc. !

Perfect, now I have understood, If I want to have the control, I must buy one domain.com with redirect, and create subdomain and redirect this subdomain to the ugly url, but I must pay about 12 euros for one domain with subdomains and the redirect...

I think I´ll use one of my domains to do it, because all things that are free, after years always doesn´t work, and dottel is to long term, so we must have always the control.

Thanks a lot. Everyday learn something new

After tow years, to me, I think now is the moment to begin a slowly good proyect with dottel, and by the moment with the two concepts that I think are the more interesting to me, in the near future of dottel: the geolocalization of mark (telview.co) and the concept of to be a "digital curator".
With telview, in all the world, see the geolocalization and with coupons on line (only after 5 minutes), to me is great great idea, and with the digital curator, I´m trying to say that these data work for long term, with all machines, with all software.

Jens, I believe what you're referring to is URL masking, and that's enabled for advertisements today. Re contact information, web links are not masked at the moment, so Mike's solution of using shorteners is a good one.

We continuously monitor forum activity and other feedback channels, and review submitted ideas periodically to understand how community suggestions are aligned with the .tel product strategy. Right now, our hands are full with the items already on the roadmap.

I got http://3dstore.tel with affiliate program, I tried to use x.co but it not allow me to short very long, long url on a afiliate program, telhosting did not allow me very long, long url as well so, I did open a free account withhttp://imageshack.us then I opened 3 browser 1 with my 3dstore.tel hosting 1 with my affiliate account and the other one with my imageshack.us account. Then drive the full url into imageshack.us then cut the long, very long url (make sure your ID affiliate is in the url) and drive it again into your telhosting domain. I did not take long time to do so. Trust me once you drive 5 to 7 url it will take you few seconds to do it again. You can drive hundreds url per day.
Check 3dstore.tel and you will know what I am talking about . It is not shorter because I have to make sure my ID affilaite will be track, otherwise I will not get money for any sell.

Try using http://TinyURL.com - never had any problem with this - it allows you to generate a customised short URL such ashttp://tinyurl.com/analoguewatches-com provided of course it hasn't been used before - otherwise you get a random letter/number short URL.

Google Affiliate Network

I mentioned in my original post 2 companies that I use to supply me with Advertisers for my affiliate links - http://www.cj.com andhttp://www.tradedoubler.com

Well there's a 3rd company that's making inroads into the Affilate marketing scene if you fancy being paid Commission for actual sales and leads achieved via a click from your domain - Google !.

I've joined Google Affiliate Network and will initially test out the monetisation on my Boat Search Engine site - if all goes well I may add their affiliate links to some of my .tel domains - though it would help a lot if Mark's request for inline Logo sized images could be implemented by Telnic.

If you want further info, or to join up, click http://www.google.com/ads/affiliatenetwork
