See this article that says it all about new gTLDs planning on raising their renewal prices skyhigh.
@god.tel - Yes, I read that article a few days ago - price rises on some of the New gTLDs going through the roof !
.TEL has some major advantages over these New gTLDs:
1. Short 3-character extension - I find it unnatural to type long extension names such as ".directory".
2. FREE TELHOSTING (no hosting fees, no maintenance software fees) if you want it, or NORMAL DNS if you don't !
3. Good availability of 1 or 2 keyword keyword names still unregistered - though these are now being snapped up as more people "get the message" and DO.TEL !
4. Resale prices still VERY LOW - I expect this to improve dramatically in the next few years !
5. An active and enthusiastic forum here.
IMO the relaunch of .TEL by Telnic on 13 March 2017, as specified in 2) above, was the smartest move they have ever made !
