Read the reviews at http://www.trustpilot.com/review/telnames.com - IMO they pretty accurately sum up the whole Telnames experience as I would expect to hear it from a user's perspective.
Is there a similar review section for customers of Telnic subdomain .tels ?

An opportunity here for Telnic Ltd. to get customer feedback - unlikely to be taken I would imagine though !
Is Telnic your company?
1.6 million people read reviews on Trustpilot every month.
Encourage more of your customers to write reviews and present a more accurate and reliable picture of your business!

Customer feedback is an important value to all businesses. Not responding to it is one thing; not reacting at all (especially by operational improvements) is the worst a company can do.

Re: Telnames reviews from real customers
I don't like them or you using the term real customers, tho I have no right to be offended I believe every customer is real and from my POV it makes it sound to those of us down the bottom of the tel pile as if we're not as respected as those who are promoted as "real".
So anyway... I have real needs and real requests, I'm a real persona going by a "creative" fursona and bottom line is I pay "real money", I'm not interested in being promoted by them, you or anyone else, I just wish they'd/you'd choose words better instead of insinuating that any review on a 3rd party site has to be "real" and what we ask for and need is "not real".
They however are unbiased reviews and titles should reflect that, but we and they don't know if each and every customer is a "real person" anyway as they don't link to their tel?
If it was irony or some kinda "yea real..." joke then that's ok but I didn't get it, just saying.

Re: Telnames reviews from real customers
After 1 year Telnames has collected 46 reviews here: http://www.trustpilot.com/review/telnames.com
I can identify two types of customers:
1. Customers who are happy because a Telname is easy to setup.
2. Customers who are disappointed because the Telname doesn't generate any business (what would be difficult as long it can't be found, of course)
Telnic really needs to think if it's wise to continue with marketing focused only on a single-page website with no options for search engine optimization!

Re: Telnames reviews from real customers
Isn’t it funny? If the original .TELs had good SEO, most .TELs wouldn’t have been dropped. But what has Telnic done? Instead of improving the SEO for the original .TELs, the opposite has happened. Telnic created a new offer at Telnames with no SEO at all. The biggest mistake an internet company could make!TelGirl wrote:Telnic really needs to think if it's wise to continue with marketing focused only on a single-page website with no options for search engine optimization!

Re: Telnames reviews from real customers
Having had a look at http://www.trustpilot.com/review/telnames.com, Nick (26 June 2013) is not a happy bunny (his post is all in CAPITALS and he is very upset) but the remainder do fit the profiles 1) and 2) above defined by @TelGirl.TelGirl wrote:After 1 year Telnames has collected 46 reviews here: http://www.trustpilot.com/review/telnames.com

So what will Telnames do to rectify the "nice design but no-one is finding us" issue ?
We await a response !

John, We’re sorry that you had misunderstood how your .tel name works. Hopefully following our call it’s a bit clearer that your .tel name is a web page rather than a directory listing or advertisement...
You're not confused John, it's called "misleading the public".
Kashayar Mahdavi has expressly advertised to the world since 2008 and beyond:
A. .tel is NOT a website.
B. Here are the top two reasons to own a .tel domain name:
1. Create and Control your Communications Hub
2. Join the Only, Real-Time, Global Directory
So, guess what John, you're not confused, you're mislead as were thousands of registrants.
You are politely discarded as a fool, when you are expecting EXACTLY what was advertised, and being told the exact OPPOSITE !

The directory approach was from 2008 (as you mentioned).GoTel wrote:Kashayar Mahdavi has expressly advertised to the world since 2008 and beyond:

I can only speculate, but maybe Telnic wanted to make a first step towards website service with Telnames.
Telnames is a big enhancement already, but Telnic forgot to please the most important demands (search engine rankings, directory).
I could imagine Telnic expected to sell enough .tels first and to care about the bigger problems of .tel later.
Meanwhile it should have become clear that a solution is needed first before .tel could become a success.
IMHO .tel registration numbers go down until Telnic will return to the pro .tels and deliver a) advanced design and b) text (= content) implementation.

It's more likely that Telnic will do that with the Telnames offer instead (+ sub domains).Toptel wrote:IMHO .tel registration numbers go down until Telnic will return to the pro .tels and deliver a) advanced design and b) text (= content) implementation.

That's exactly right Frank, except NO subdomains for Telnames.
The only chance they have is to learn from the past:
1. Old .tel is bad, subdomains are bad.
2. Old telpages is bad because subdomains are bad.
Right idea, but Old .tel is the disaster that caused the problems.
Right future:
3. New .tel Telnames is good, because subdomains do not exist.
4. New Telnames Directory is good, because subdomains do not exist.
Right idea, right page, right directory ... success.

Very good question. VERY good question.
Where is the Telnames Directory ?
This is the "Do or Die" answer - it's the concept that's good, now Telnames just needs to show the world the real thing with the same class as they did with the Telnames page.

The statement
http://MikeSeaton.tel
The statement
As Aled Williams of Telnic/Telnames has made perfectly clear ALL information in your .tel is NOT indexed by TelPages - so why continue to say it is ?All information stored within your .tel is globally accessible from any device connected to the internet, and is automatically indexed by TelPages...

Re: Telnames reviews from real customers
The consensus of all .tel registrants regardless of type is the same:
1. It's a value, I think I'll register one.
2. Wait, what good is this value versus all the free options?
3. None, drop.
Only Telnames with their Telnames Partner Network has the intelligence to see what is really needed, too bad it's virtually useless.
Until there is a REAL reason to augment your ".com" .tel will die.
The only real reason is the same as Facebook, Twitter, Yellow Pages, etc.
A reason to go to your page, found in it's own REAL directory.
Duh.
