By the way, .directory domains are available at GoDaddy right now for $4.99 USD the first year and $14.99 for renewals.

You are presenting an excellent selection of top keyword .tel domains on http://dot-tel-domains.premium.tel .
The big question is if .tel will attract any new interest after the restrictions will be lifted next month.

Now, on DNS hosting, TEL-directories with many links in their folders are in their element - and it seems that Google understands this and promotes TEL-sites well enough.

But, if the same TEL-directory will be "backed up" from DNS hosting to a normal hosting, then is there a danger that then Google will change it's mind and will begin to look at such sites as to a usual "doorway sites"?

And will take negative actions against such sites as it does with doorways?

Probably like all of you, I received the information about the changes from Telnic today once again.

On coming Monday, Telnic will issue you (by email) with account details to the new Telhosting platform.

That's only important for owners of big directories and big Telnic customers.

The majority of those affected can easily change their domains manually.

1. What is the difference between subdomains and subfolders?
2. What is the difference between static and dynamic hosting?

Subdomain vs Subfolder

I think Mark means subdirectory (for subfolder); I could be wrong.

Here is a definition of the difference between subdomain and subdirectory from http://www.searchmarketingstandard.com/when-to-use-subdomains-vs-subfolders:

"Your domain is a folder that contains your site files; a subdirectory is a folder contained within this main folder (such as http://www.yourdomain.com/subdirectory1). A subdomain, on the other hand, is basically an alias, another address that can be created for one of your subdirectories. An Internet user can enter the subdomain in his browser’s address bar to view the subdirectory with which it’s associated."


So I think a subdirectory (subfolder) is a page. So it looks as if we can convert our .tel data to pages as on a normal website.

Static vs Dynamic


Not sure what this means. Static says to me it can't be changed. But this surely can't be correct.

Dynamic has a CMS; like Wordpress maybe?? What will be the CMS for .tels with Telmasters after March 2017?

What would the Content Management System be?

I think that's the most important question needs answering.
The telhosting solution needed many improvements and any new CMS solution needs to have at least some forward progress.

And I'd only really pay if all my prior hard work was migrated into a better system.

Tomorrow 13 February 2017 is the start of NEW .TEL setting-up:

What is happening and when?

From the 13th February 2017, Telnic will issue you (by email) with account details to the new Telhosting platform. Once you receive your new details, you can access your new account and start adding content.
From 13th March 2017, any content that you have added to the new platform will be published to the internet from the new platform. From this date, content on the current platform will stop being published to the internet.
It is important to note that Telnic will not be performing any Data Migration from the current to new platform. Your new account will be empty and it will be your responsibility to populate your domain on the new platform before 13th March 2017.
From 13th March 2017, all usage restrictions will be lifted from .tel and you get to choose how you use your .tel domain.

My plan:

1. Review my main .COM etc. Web sites and their associated Social Media sites (Twitter, Facebook, etc).

2. Check I have a .TEL registered to provide a Single Point Of Contact/Link for my Web sites and their associated Social Media sites related to a subject - it makes it so much easier to quote a single .TEL when speaking to someone and let them link to the relevant sites from there - with Telnic software automatically adjusting for the type of internet device being used.
