.tel has an amazing potential in terms of telephone services:

Telnic has always done the same: the main company website was always telnic.org, because they haven't trusted in telnic.tel.

The lack in confidence can't be more obvious if even the sponser doesn't trust in its own product.

• gTLDs add the possibility of a perfect Domain-to-TLD match (Example marthasvineyard.directory)
  
• .tel adds nothing.  No TLD recognition after 8 years and no plus as far as SEO and website purpose unless you like having a separate website take the place of a Contact Us page.
