1. Godaddy (like most registrars) likes to sell web space, hosting and whois privacy. With .tel it’s not possible, because everything is included. (Good from the view of .tel customers!)
2. Digitrad and Webnames spent big time and money to support .tel, but Telnic refused to develop it.
3. For the first time ever a registry (Telnic) sells domains directly to end customers (through Telnames).
4. In 2009 registrars believed they could sell millions of .tel, but Telnic supported this target only with small budget.
5. Registration numbers are low and decline since January 2012 without interruption. With these low numbers the only beneficiary for sales is Telnic.
6. Telnic doesn’t promote the .tel distributed by registrars, because they think about the success of Telnames instead.
7. The pace of improvement for .tel is too slow to arouse interest.
8. The old design for Telnic’s .tel is not merchantable.
9. Too many delivery dates for improvements have been delayed too long in the past.
10. .tel is an isolated application without interconnectivity. (This would only change if .tel would be noticed by the market.)
What do you see from this list? A lot of work is lying in front of .tel!
