...a massive take-up by small businesses, a searchable directory, and ideally a way for the customer to rate the tradesmen listed in its directory.

Here's one UK site that does this already - I've used them several times myself to find reliable tradesmen - it works, has been running successfully for years, and their web address is often seen on vans around the UK.

How can Telnames compete with this organisation - just on cost alone ?

And should Telnames finally decide to build the Tel Global Directory that's so desperately needed, here's an easy-to-use site they could model their design on.

I guess Telnic is waiting for another company to implement this on top of the Telnic system.

To enable a Tel Global Directory to be built there are 2 simple updates to the Telnic and Telnames control panels needed to make classification by software easy:

    1. Dropdown Country list.

    2. Dropdown Business Category list.

I have requested these on more than one occasion on Telnic's forum (before being banned) - Telnames even presents a dropdown Country list to you when asking for payment for your domain - but unfortunately as yet no modification to either Telnic or Telnames control panels !
