Pierre Caland was born to a French father, Paul Caland, banker, and a Lebanese mother, Huguette El Khoury, painter, daughter of the pillar of the Lebanese independence Sheikh Beshara El Khoury. With swimming abilities, Pierre Caland participated in the Munich Olympic Games in 1972 representing Lebanon. He currently is a Member of Advisory Board of Scorpion Capital Partners L.P. He founded Arabella S.A. in 1995 and CalFund in 1997. From 1979 through 1983, Pierre Caland worked with JP Morgan as a commercial and investment banker. He is a private investor who has been investing with Mr. Brandolini in small to medium sized businesses in Europe and the United States since 1983 and with Mr. McCarthy since 1993.
