Telnames Issues & Suggestions Empty Telnames Issues & Suggestions

Post by mikeseaton 2013-07-30, 8:41 am

It is very valuable for any internet vendor to have a universally accessible (so they don't get the same issue repeated by multiple customers) feedback area - as it doesn't exist for Telnames I have created a thread for it here !

Hopefully in the not too distant future Telnames will create a TelTalk user so they can respond and keep customers involved ?

Telnames Issues & Suggestions Empty Transfer Issues on the Sale of a Telnames .tel domain

Post by mikeseaton 2013-07-30, 8:45 am

    - The Admin contact (emailed to authorise a domain transfer) is automatically set to Telnames itself (and cannot be altered in your Telnames account) rather than the usual default setting of Registrant as with Telnic .tels and other extensions.

    - There is no facility to "push" a sold Telnames .tel between a seller's and buyer's Telnames accounts.

    - Even if a "push" facility between Telnames accounts were developed, as it stands the buyer would still have to register a second Telnames .tel to open an account - you cannot (as with other Registrars) just open a free account with no domain in it ready for a transfer-in.

    - You can't transfer a Telnames .tel out on a sale to another Registrar without the buyer losing the facility to use the Telnames template.

Telnames Issues & Suggestions Empty Re: Telnames Issues & Suggestions

I paid for my website, but the link "powered by Telnames.com" can’t be deleted. What is the price for an ad-free website?

The advertising is misleading. It’s suggested that new customers can be found, but no one can find my website. I recommend a declaration that every customer is responsible for the website distribution.

Telnames Issues & Suggestions Empty Telnames Newbies need advising of Hide Content facility

Post by mikeseaton 2013-07-30, 11:25 am

If you are new to viewing Telnames .tel domains there is nothing to advise you that there is a "Hide Content" facility available by clicking the Header.

If the ability to display (virtually) all the Background image is important then users need to know that this facility is available.

    I would suggest two things:
    - A "Hide Content" link on the Header.
    - Clicking anywhere on the Background image to perform the same function.

Before I start writing about SEO, subdomains, long text and a directory, let's start with something simple:
Please provide a size for the logo and the picture gallery that is identifiable by the human eye.

Telnames Issues & Suggestions Empty Make Images in the Image Gallery clickable links

Post by mikeseaton 2013-07-30, 12:44 pm

Users expect to be able to click on images so please make the images in the Image Gallery into clickable links.

    This could lead to:
    1. A web page specified by a URL
    OR
    2. A larger version of the image

Ideally a choice of either type of result could be made in the Telnames Control Panel, but if only one option is programmed I would definitely consider Option 1) to be the more valuable.

Telnames Issues & Suggestions Empty Improve credibility of Telnames Partner Network

Post by mikeseaton 2013-07-30, 12:58 pm

The Telnames Partner Network with its List Once Publish Everywhere as pitched at http://www.telnames.com/telnames-partner-network is a great idea !

But it would improve credibility of the TPN if the logos displayed under "Some of our Partner Network brands" were clickable links - so it was easy to check whether you were actually listed there.

Unfortunately Sunrise I think you are probably right !

I have just gone to follow https://twitter.com/tel_names from my Twitter account and got the message:

You have been blocked from following this account at the request of the user.
I GIVE UP WITH THEM - TELNIC/TELNAMES SEEM DETERMINED TO BLOCK ANY CONTRUCTIVE IDEAS PUT FORWARD BY THE MANY EXPERIENCED MEMBERS OF THIS FORUM !

    DOES TELNIC/TELNAMES NEVER LEARN ?
