    • Professionals: No individuality
    • Teenagers: No fun
    • Old-timers: No usage

    @let - very comprehensive analytical list !

    The unanswered question is WHY Telnic/Telnames have chosen to ALIENATE so many of these market sectors by various actions (including inaction of course) that they have taken over the last couple of years or so ?

    Or did they not realise that if you make life difficult for customers they eventually give up with you - and so do their friends and contacts - news about bad experiences with internet suppliers tends to travel fast these days !

    Telnic began appealing to 2 types:

    Business (Small or Large)
    Individual (Small or Large :-)

    Purpose:

    A better, self-managed listing in a better White/Yellowpages Directory.

    Nothing more, nothing less.

    If Telnic focused on Telnames and a Telnames Directory for the above as they began, the rest becomes easy.

    Still.

    Eureka! I finally get it. They are targeting people who are both blind and deaf, live alone, and have no access to an internet device.

    Not possible; customers need an Internet device to register a .tel.
    Hence the prospects with the greatest potential can't be reached!

    Telnic have an api or bot for updating your tel via SMS I believe, thus I don't see why you need an internet connected device to purchase a telname or update the details you just need a pay as you go phone if telnames allowed for it.

    If you can pay via text message aka sms then you can buy a telname and update the info via SMS messages. The only issue is you'll never see it without having some kind of basic internet access maybe via a coffee shop or net cafe which 3rd world places are reliant on, but you can see the data if you SMS request it.

    Perhaps telnames should sell to places like somalia etc and or bundle a basic sms update app with pay as you go telnames branded purple mobiles that 3rd world users need to connect with other tribes and or find businesses that local means 300miles away etc so they can find services they need as It might be more beneficial than trying to convince current business holders in the west/east that have access to fast internet and don't seem to need or want telnames.
