    Domain Status pendingDelete
    (SCHEDULED FOR RELEASE)

Aled, can you confirm how many days a domain remains in above stays before dropping?
    Thank you

It will be 35 days in pending delete, but it's possible that it could still be redeemed by the owner in the first 30 of those days (if the registrar in question offers that service).

    Yes, thanks.

I should have been more specific. I am asking about the descriptive text "(SCHEDULED FOR RELEASE)" that gets added to a domain (when checked via whois.tel) in the final 5 days prior to dropping. I assume it is 5 after observing this on many occasions.

Could you confirm please that it's 5 days?
    Thank you

    Aled08-23-2013 11:51 AM

Sorry, yes. The final deletion period is 5 days.

Is there any possible reason why a domain could remain in (SCHEDULED FOR RELEASE) state for MORE than 5 days?
    Thank you

Edit: finally dropped, and NOT caught by domainmonster (arghhhh)
    ...the domain was SPAS.tel
    Congrats Mark
