Telnic said the next Newsletter would be September 2011 ...

... if you're in New Zealand you've got minutes before September is over !

Scratch that, it's already October there !

How's the September Newsletter coming along ?

    ;)

I'm not so worried about the exact date:

I rather read interesting news than just keeping the time schedule.

When you go from a monthly to quarterly edition it is a bad signal enough.

When you miss the first Quarterly edition it is more than a bad signal that is generated.

This doesn't mean anything necessarily, but it is certainly not looking good to say this:

"There's plenty of great news every month, but we're going to a Quarterly edition anyway."

    and then

"Even though we've had 3 months to work out all the great news and produce a Newsletter,
we've decided to letdown all our supporters once again by not fulfilling our promises about the Quarterly edition timing either."

I know that things are in transition globally, and I know this has been a long, hard road for .tel, but come on.

I check every day at Telnic.org for updates and news and the forum.

I use, support, defend, and promote .TEL every day.

Even with all the "Advanced" technology, .TEL and TelPages is still a great and wonderful thing with mass value.

So, "what's up" is all we're asking after MONTHS of silence !

We're still here for you ! How about some reciprocation !

    :)

Be interesting to see whether any other senior Google staff are registering .tels after the registration yesterday of PiusWilson.tel - not sure how easy that would be to monitor though.

What's good about the domain PiusWilson.tel is that it is actually being used as a single point of contact mechanism - just need Pius to say to people
Don't bother remembering my contact details, just Dot Tel me and click !

In the beginning when .tel was launched we have been pampered a lot.

After the success of .tel hasn't come as hoped for, of course Telnic is reducing the staff.
So we have to adjust to the new situation. I know it is hard, but that is the reality!

The reality is - that's why they said "Sorry, wait until September".

I know it's hard to hearing reality, but they're not even saying "Sorry" now !

Yes, that I am wondering about, too!

Also when removing the road map, at least they could announce it with an explanation.
That would be better than letting us in the dark.

    Newletter is out for September

    Light is on !

They were just testing our resolve !

Thank you for your patience, Telrific. The September edition of the newsletter is on the Telnic website and our mailing system is in the process of sending out the mailers. Naturally this is a large recipient list and it can take some time for the mailer to complete but hopefully you will get it before midnight in your time zone.

    Hi Aled,

    Thank you !

I've already read every sentence of the Newsletter ... twice.

I was good until the final hour had passed for some, then I got nervous.

Most we knew if we had been following.

GREAT to see the following reiterated or announced:

•New Templates: New designs with additional third party logo support and without hCard/Print this options
•.tel Redirection: Owners of multiple .tel domains that wish to re-direct them to a central .tel hub will be able to put one go to link within the domain and have it re-direct to that .tel automatically when a visitor types it in
•Search Enhancements: Refinement of the HTML for better delivery of information to search engines
•IAB advert standardization: To enable support in the templates for standard advert sizes
•Mobile Search: Ability to put search box at the top of the smart phone template for use on 'search this .tel only'

Looks like we have until December, and then the big Landrush Renewal month March to
hear about everything in 2 Newsletters to come. I hope the March edition comes
before the end of the Month, some may give up on the 23rd renewal if not by 15th !

    Thanks again !

    :)

When Google's Executive Software Director decides it's time to join the .tel bandwagon we really need to let as many people as possible know so as to increase .tel's credibility - have duly tweeted this development at http://twitter.com/mikeseaton
