Well, the new style is not gossip, it has roots that will likely take hold for many.

    As for the forum chatter, you may be quite right, at least we can hope for a better percentage of chatter.

    Telnames should be thinking outside the box. Go viral or go home I say.

    My suggestion is to focus the discussions in this forum to Telnic/tel related matters rather than mixing up everything with Telnames.

    Today I happened to be away from computers and when I came back after about 16 hours I was kind of lost in the forum. Didn't know where to start. Telnames was all over the place as if this is a forum run by Telnames.

    ++++

    I would favor a separate Telnames section in the forum. It would be easier to follow the train of thought as items are shared related to the new platform.

    I am still on record as encouraging Telmnames to add sub domains. It doesn't have to be a huge amount but, enough to offer reasonable amount of development. When looking at category killer domains many businesses would like to have a chance to have a page or link to the domain.

    BigJohnDoorCompany.com may love to have a sub domain at Door.tel

    Would be interested in everyone's thoughts on this.

    Can you imagine what would happen if .tel would become successful?

    That's the very reason we should have separate sections/categories.

    It is in all but name !

    CEO and CFO of Telnic Ltd = CEO and CFO of Telnames Ltd = Kash and Fiona

    Offices of Telnic Ltd = Offices of Telnames Ltd = 37 Percy Street, London W1T 2DJ

    Do you not get it ?

    @mike

    The repetition and repeat of the same info is getting rather boring.

    We all have heard and understand your point, let's move on to something interesting- like do you have any names at the new Telhosting provider?

    cheers

    mikeseaton04-26-2012 10:06 PM

    @aliencafe

    I'm glad you have finally got it - so perhaps we'll have no more nonsense of talking about Telnames and Telnic as if they are totally different setups.

    It does take a while for some to suss out what's really going on !

    the acid test comes during the bstartup show in may. this is THE target market and a captive audience, reg figures during that show will give some idea whether owners of small businesses buy into telnames or not...

    I think the ACID TEST will come only after one year from registration.

    fyi - as of today there were 128 tel's registered by TelNames

    hope to see this number grow as awareness grows and marketing kicks in.

    Mark

    dottel.net04-27-2012 12:42 PM

    ah that explains it. that's the wrong way to look at it. if you want to check who is using the telnames proxy, its better to check to see who is using the telnames nameserver. that way should other registrars start offering this you can still see how many are serving up the telnames proxy.

    Mark Kolb (Kprobe)04-27-2012 01:25 PM

    The zone file contains over 100 sites with telnames servers but when you remove the test sites, there are 90 odd real domains. So you are testing against the DNS?
