Very slow access CHT Hi Aled, I have noticed since yesterday a very slow access to the CHT from name.com Any reason? thanks |
Hi, I'm not aware of any issues and can't replicate here. Do you have an account with any other registrar to compare? I assume your general internet access speed is normal at the moment? Has it been a gradual deterioration? As mentioned on here previously, if you do have a large amount of names, especially compounded with significant subfolders in a single CTH account there will be a stage where the performance and speed of that account will be affected. If you suspect that you have reached that stage, separating names into different accounts can improve the performance. thanks Aled |
Hi, I have been using the same account with the same number of names for more than 2 years now. Never experience such problem. I will monitor it and let u know. regards |
We notice this too. Not only the CTH but also the "Client authentication" of Name.com is working very slow. This causes timing out of certain scripts we run connecting to database. We started experiencing the slowing down of "Client authentication" of name.com from today afternoon (GMT). Nothing wrong with the internet connections & ISP as same scripts working normal with domainmonster.com etc. Rgds P.S. Looks like whole OAuth system is breaking apart! |
We have informed name.com about this slowing down of telhosting services. And awaiting their response. Cheers! |
Right now name.com's https://telhosting.name.com/g2/login.action is not loading at all. Whereas, telhosts of domainmonster.com and dynadot.com are working normal. Haven't recd any reply yet. Definitely name.com seem to be having some kind of an issue with their telhosting system Cheers! |
Just out of curiosity tried name.com login page through an SSL proxy site then the https://telhosting.name.com/g2/login.action loaded instantly. So, this means their system is working normal. I hope name.com is NOT using some kind of throttling on IP addresses using their telhosting services regularly?? |
We have provided name.com with all the details, our IP address (at present), and regarding our accessing of telhosting via SSL proxy site which loads their log in page instantly etc. No response up to now. But it is evident that the blocking fever is catching up. ++++ |
No reply from name.com as yet. However, both telhosting connections (login & auth login) are working normal now.:D Will post name.com's response upon receipt. Cheers! |
Still extremely slow with name.com. very very slow. |
What is slow and often failing is CTH account creation for newly dropped domains. I've been back and forth with name and telnic on one for a week and several others for days. Mark |
Ok. Received the reply from name.com. But I do not want to copy it here as it was a business email. However, they say that they see some connectivity issues with the Tel registry. As such, they are seeing some sluggishness and other wonky behaviour. And they are working with Telnic to get these resolved. They said that they do not do any IP based throttling (They see this as related to the issues with Telnic. So, that was their message. It is, however, working normal for me now. Cheers! |
But the mystery to me now is how did name.com's system work for me through an SSL proxy site extremely fast while it was still working very slow when accessed directly. |
Aled, Hope you can help us to resolve this issue.... regards, |
Yes,today I try it. Very slow. |
We're looking into why this may be. Can are you also using Nmae.com? |
