In site search results Aled, When I search for "car repair" in crediton.tel (click link below) it returns two tenuous results - an antique shop and a metal fabricator. I can see that the antique shop listing mentions repairs to carriage clocks but I can see no reason why the metal fabricator is displayed. There is also a carpenter listed at the bottom of the results display. Do you understand why the metal fabricator is shown - particularly above genuine car repairers - their only keyword is repair? Is there any way I can improve the results findings and get these three off the list or at least - to the bottom of it? The same problem exists with tiverton.tel and, no doubt, with other sites, and other search terms. |
Blunderer - with regards to the metal fabricator, I see that there the string "car" is within "carried", so you could reword this to see if it removes it from the results. |
Ah! Thank you. I've looked at that listing twenty times and didn't spot that. |
Aled, I don't know what infrastructure is used at Telpages, but MSSQL and MYSQL allow for text search based on words instead of strings. Wouldn't changing the search method solve the "car" finding "carried" problem? Mark |
