Tel needs an affiliate program... Telnic may have some wonderful professional marketing people working for them, but in order to scale up their outreach they need to do something on the viral side... I suggest an affiliate program along the lines of introduce a new registrant and get a credit of half a year's renewal ie. for each two new registrants to Tel, get one year's renewal for free. This is smart marketing in my opinion because the majority of new registrants are likely to keep their new domain for more than one year. And in this way it also encourages renewals of domains owned by affiliate partners. Top affiliate partners should also get special recognition, whether it be a new iPad, or iPhone, or trip to London, etc. As for implementation - I'll let other experts fill in the details. |
As telnic don't sell names directly (cough, ahem telnames excluded for the rest of this post), its the registrars that can offer affiliate codes. This is already in place for most of the large tel registrars. commission is only a few $'s and thats only for new customers vs domains solds. |
