My Ways to Use Dot Tel Domains I am very excited about Dot Tel domains. A while ago, we have bought some Tels, but now I see even more potential there. For development of our websites we have internal CMS/CRM/ERP system, and it is work with the database, a lot of editing, planning, managing templates and so on. Just classical web work and management. But Dot Tel is very logical approach to Internet. I often repeat that Dot Tel had to be the first Top Level Domain, and not the last, by today. As it is most logical to put your contact informations on Internet in easy manner. So, how the heck, nobody invented that in beginning of Internet domains?! Anyway, people were and are still using .COM and other TLDs for contact informations. Most of domains are under developed and many local businesses keep only a picture or few words and contact informations on their .COM domain. So, the most logical approach to contact informations is something like Dot Tel: easy to make, easy to maintain, always there, no hosting, no databases, almost no knowledge required to maintain the Dot Tel domain. Somewhere on this forum I have read that Dot Tel domains were not intended for informational or content based domains. But I see that different, and I see very much potential in Dot Tel as structured, important content resource. That is why, here I list some alternatives which I think that Dot Tel can be used:

. Very good ideas, JLouis, I mostly like 3./4./5. and 7. And I would give 3. and 5. my best notes. Defenitly the most interesting idea, though, is 5. So, how go from there, with "5."?...: (Yes, "5." is about "...Product Description and pointer tool such as BMW-X6.CAR.TEL".) Well, this is one the best .tel domain promotion ideas, I have ever seen. - It is far better than the Love Train Video with Ben.tel. (And I have never heard or read a word, about what the real Ben (the one from the Telnic Team) is doing to promote the dot the domain. Maby he may step foreward and tell us himself, what his efforts had been, and are, to promote .tel.) That idea with about using .tel for product description and as a pointer tool, really rocks! That is briliant! Now, imagine you are on the go with your smart phone, or black berry, and would like to look up some product information about the newest car model whatever, of whateverbrand?...: It is easyer to have a list of links about the product, and then beeing able to go from there, than having to navigate through a mobile website, to search for specific info about a specic brand, and a specific model. So, if I am interested in "Tesla Model S", there would be a webpage "model-s.teslamotors.tel". That's pretty cool. . . |
You speak German, so this is my example of product description on Dot Tel domain: http://panama.offshore.aktiengesellschaft.tel/ OK, that is kind of service, but page is not just phone and fax numbers. It is basically all you need to know to get to the service. Just click there, download form, complete, pay and go. That gives possibility to give informations to clients on how to do something easier, lesser complicated. I have often clients on the web form not knowing where the web form is. Dot Tel is easy to manage, and one can simply say: bmw.to-buy.tel and you would get there instructions. I am only worried of possible limitations in the Dot Tel domain, especially with tens of thousands of links and product descriptions. OK, not everybody will advertise in that manner. But some will do that. Then, when it happens, I am worried that Dot Tel domains will be degraded by Google. Who knows. Imagine bunch of products from ART.COM, there are many, maybe 100,000 products. If I take a feed of those products, I could push it into Dot Tel domains as pointers to affiliate links and it could create some income that way. I don't wanna think when Viagra and Co. people find out about Dot Tel, what will happen. Basically, I am worried that Dot Tel is not enough stable, secure and not expandable, once it really starts growing. |
