    redirecting to affiliates

    i like to use affiliate-links
    but some of them are just too long.

    this is what i like to do, to solve this problem,
    here is an example. (the bellow listed sites are just examples)

    i have a .tel domain xy.tel
    i register a .com domain xytel.com

    now i like to create some links on my xy.tel.
    links like ....
    xytel.com/affiliatename1 --> send u to affiliatename1.com/sderfer4fr
    xytel.com/affiliatename2 --> send u to affiliatename2.com/ölk65765
    xytel.com/affiliatename3 --> send u to affiliatename3.com/dsö5ö76

    Maybe someone know a good way to program this?

    kind regards
    Alu

    I use affiliate links as advertisements on my domains. The ad structure allows very long links to be hidden through linking text. For example, santas.tel. If this is what you need, you can use my free ad insertion tool at www.ads4.tel

    Alu, you could also use free URL shortening services. There are many now (bit.ly, tinyurl.com, etc...). Seehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/URL_shortening
    Most of them have APIs and now come with free statistics as well.

    do you have any hosted webspace? depends on what system you're running, i'll assume you're running a php + apache environment:
    you can either add some entries into a htacess file to achieve what you need or add a simple php script to redirect. there are many examples out there on how to do this or feel free to pm your exact requirements and i'll have one of my developers send you specific some samples.

    thanks for the pm, i've sent a sample script. let me know how you get on. good luck!

    As you are working with a .tel page and a mother website, I suggest the following solution:

    xy.tel
    xy.com
    xy.com/contactus
    contactus = .tel "Contact Us" page.

    On "contactus", you will have the same links and look, as you have on your xy.tel.

    You could basically have "contactus" as your main page on your website (xy.com). And so, that is similar to redirecting visitors your .tel page: They will see your .tel on your .com, and be able to use your .com in the same way as your .tel.

    Another advantage of this method is, that visitors don't loose any time by getting redirected, or won't see a blanc screen at first.
    Anyway, your xy.com would be more useful, this way, than if it only would fulfill its duty as "a redirector".

    I hope this is of some use to you.
