    ...who have been appointed ?

If so, do you have links to their URLs showing what they offer ?

    Maxi...

    Hope this helps.

    VARs
    1. Have set wholesale pricing.
    2. Can set their own pricing.
    3. Are responsible for providing first line of support to their customers.
    4. Leverage the existing infrastructure.

    Affiliates
    1. Market the product or service at a price set by the Parent company.
    2. Receive an agreed percentage or preset dollar amount for each unit sold via their channels, sites, or efforts (usually with a unique ID)
    3. Are not responsible for providing technical support.

    Thanks
    Dan

    ntervu, thanks!

So, those who just want to place Telnames Ads instead of Google Ads, need to choose Affiliates.

That's one way to become a Telnames Affiliate (using their in-house programme) - the other way is via their Commission Junction Affiliate programme (started 18 Dec 2012).

CJ can be found at http://www.cj.com - a summary of the CJ Telnames Affiliate programme can be found in my post at http://www.teltalk.org/t790-telnames-campaign-has-now-launched-on-cj#4413

Hm... It looks that it is not as simple as I thought first. What is the difference between the first way and the second way?

They are completely different Affiliate programmes, the first is run by Telnames itself and the second by Commission Junction (CJ).

I don't know the remuneration details of the Telnames programme, but the key details of the CJ one is given in my post http://www.teltalk.org/t790-telnames-campaign-has-now-launched-on-cj#4413

The advantage of using CJ from Telnames perspective is that they get immediate access to tens of thousands of established publishers.

The advantage of using CJ from a publisher's perspective (assuming equal payout and cookie length from both programmes) is that commissions from the various CJ advertisers you promote are added together which ensures you reach the payment threshold quicker.

I have used CJ for years (click http://www.cj.com) promoting many major advertisers in both the UK and USA - CJ are very good, efficient and pay promptly once the payment threshold is reached.

    mikeseaton, thank you!

But it is still not clear what one from these two possible ways would be better to use on TEL domains?

All things being equal (payout rates and cookie length) I would opt for CJ for the reason stated in my post i.e. the commissions from all CJ advertisers you promote are added together to enable you to reach the payment threshold quicker.

The CJ affiliate payout rates and cookie length (CJ call cookie length the "referral period") can be found at https://members.cj.com/member/accounts/publisher/getadvertiserdetail.do?advertiserId=3859518

The Telnames in-house affiliate payout rates and cookie length AFAIK are not published, so you would need to apply and be accepted to their programme to get these.

For those new to affiliate promotion, the "cookie length" is the number of days that you still get credit for the sale if the purchaser initially clicks through from your site but then subsequently goes direct to purchase.

Of course for "cookie length" to work the user must not clear their cookies from their internet device - some browsers make this very easy to do - the worst thing is when "clear cookies" is a default setting at the end of a browser session !

One tip for CJ newbies - after a while you will find figures appear for EACH CREATIVE on https://members.cj.com/member/1216622/publisher/offers/search/getlinks.do?default=no&advertiserId=3859518&crumbTrail=1356739677533&finditem=general&linkType=1 called 3 Month EPC and 7 Day EPC.

THIS IS VERY VALUABLE INFORMATION - it tells you how much in USD each Banner (also applies to Text links and Flash links) has on average generated for each 100 Clicks over the preceding 3 Months and also the preceding 7 Days.

So if you've got a choice of creatives which are all suitable, go for the one with the proven earnings result to maximise your revenue !

After reading opinions about that affiliate programme at another forum, I decided not to paticipate in it. Expierenced users there said that by its time it is "a very short programme" and that there will be "more job than money". And that this programme may have some sence only for domainers who can use it as "a hidden discount when registering TELs for themselves".
