I have just read the above ICANN report. After the multitude of negative comments about Telnic continuing to be the .Tel Registry operator I note ICANN wrote:
On the other hand, one commenter expressed their support for Telnic’s continuing to be the Registry Operator of .TEL TLD and also pointed out some areas of improvement...
So one supporter of Telnic - that’s OK then - better let Telnic have a 10 year renewal !
I am worried about ICANN’s summary position quoted below:
ICANN notes that numerous comments expressed concerns regarding Telnic Limited’s business model. As discussed above, ICANN does not prescribe or proscribe Registry Operators’ business models.
ICANN appear to be categorising the multitude of complaints about Telnic as just dissatisfaction with it’s “business model” which they say is not their concern !
Not sure when the ICANN Board of Directors are meeting to formally make a decision, but it’s not looking too likely they are going to replace Telnic as they need to do.
I’ll wait and see what the ICANN Board decide but IF TELNIC CONTINUES AS THE .TEL REGISTRY FOR A FURTHER 10 YEARS IT REALLY IS GAME OVER FOR THE .TEL EXTENSION !

PS. Telnic Ltd, and their 100% owned subsidiary Telnames Ltd, are still hiding their true financial position from public scrutiny - see http://www.teltalk.org/t1733p175-telnic-pulls-a-cunning-move#15869
