TELcp,
The displayed Skype status on my .tel is always offline, doesn't matter if I'm online or offline.

It's an interesting idea, but I don't see how it will work as implemented. TelCP's image is just a link to the skype status banner, which requires a script to test for status online/offline. To get this to work, the image must be dynamically generated from a server, where the server hosting the image reads the DNS for the referred domain, looks for a either the skype username in the DNS or a refer in the image link, then embeds the skype status via its own script. This dynamic image generation is the same principle for the telvisitors' visitor counter (eg see the images at www.telmasters.tel ).

Because the synchronization between .tel and Skype is not working, here is the workaround:
i) Save the following buttons somewhere on the web:
ii) Link those pictures as image with TELcp or Telmasters in your .tel domain
iii) Insert " skype:username?call " as website link
iv) Every time you want to change your Skype status, you have to exchange the pictures
Because the last step is not practical, I recommend using only the online button. That means you have to pick up your Skype calls 24/7.
Anyway availability with an online status gives a much better impression to your customers than being offline.
This solution is not advanced, but maybe your website visitors won't realize it. Until the technology will be sophisticated, we have to outsmart it.

I don't want to criticize Telnic more than necessary. But after 3 1 / 2 years they haven't develop their technology, so even such simple task can't be realized? What have they done during that time?

After the disappointing start Telnic stopped just thinking about their first draft of TEL.Sunrise wrote:I don't want to criticize Telnic more than necessary. Maybe we need to put this failure aside, concentrate on the good things and watch the development of Telnames.
Hopefully Telnic won't repeat the mistakes from the past.

Respect for Telnic!TelGirl wrote:After the disappointing start Telnic stopped just thinking about their first draft of TEL.
While many people only complained, Telnic detected the wrong direction first, canceled their original plan
and started something much better from scratch with Telnames.
Good entrepreneurial thinking!

Re: Skype Status Button on .tel domain
With regards to the new feature at TELcp to display Skype Status button you don't have to host separate banners at telcp.com or anywhere else.
TELcp's tel Owners & tel Users please do as follows:
1) Log in to your TELcp account from Desktop or Smartphone
2) Click (or tap from smartphones) your domain name (to expand it)
3) Select the Root Domain or Sub Domain
4) Select "Skype Status Bar" and Click (or tap)
5) Type in your Skype ID, and submit
Then go to Skype Control Panel of your Skype App and do as follows:
1. Log in
2. From Skype Control Panel menu, Select Skype -> Privacy ->
3. Check (check box) "Allow my online status to be shown on the web". And Save.
Then whenever you log in to your Skype Control Panel, do as follows:
1) Find the status icons on the left hand corner and Select your current Status. (What ever you select here will be instantly displayed on your tel page).
note: When you log out, the Status Button on your tel page will display "OFF LINE" until you change your status from the Skype control Panel once again.
Hope this info helps.
Have a great weekend!

Re: Skype Status Button on .tel domain
I do remember a post by TELcp saying they are no longer doing any more work on their .tel control panel - but will keep it going until the last existing user leaves.
As mentioned by many already, software developers are deserting the .tel project, Mark excepted of course.
Have Telnic/Telnames worked out why yet - if so does it matter to them ?
