Thought there was a thing where by if something is cheap customers over look it thinking it's quality is not up to scratch, but I'm not sure this applies anymore due to the amount of people out of work looking for bargains...
Most of those mobile ones are really just looking to scalp existing profitable businesses in my opinion, and going likely by the value it would cost to hire a web designer for one-five hours or one day rather than the on going weeks and months of coffee and legs on the desk "development".
As for Telnames I hope they have a Christmas code "BadSanta" and advert it as a kind of reverse psychology marketing, as this is about the right time to do some viral's etc, so perhaps a bad/wise vs good/forgetful business Santa one would suit it "literally".
A Red suited Santa to illustrate a business loosing money (jolly, fun and forgetful as he/she as the business owner is "wrapped up in the spirit of the season" giving all away) vs a Black suited Santa to illustrate a business being profitable and aware about mobile bargain hunters and how to target those markets via owning a telnames.
So If they we're to do one for Christmas I believe a word play on the corporate marketing of is your business "in the red or in the black this season" could be a good target advert.
"sales & discounts this Christmas season may put your business in the red, but come back to the black for the new year with a telnames".
"has your business been good to you this year?"
"give a gift to your little entrepreneur this season that just keeps on giving".
As for that telnames re-seller thing I'm wondering why they don't cold call mobile stores and organize to get an advert/qr code in every store window in return for the referral url cash that mobile stores would like.
They have great adverts now and great marketing pictures, so those could even be played in "none brand" 3rd party mobile shop store windows so the owner can get referrals.
