New features for your Telname Empty New features for your Telname

Post by Telnamer 2013-06-25, 6:49 am

    Mail from Telnames:

We know you’re busy, so we’ll be quick. We’ve recently added some new functionality and services to your mobile-ready Telname that we really thought you should know about.

New features for your Telname Paypal

Early this month, we switched on the ability to link a PayPal account with a mini-store to help you take money online and on mobiles. You can now sell products, services or receive donations through PayPal at no extra cost to you.

New features for your Telname Tpn

We know the importance of generating new customers so we’ve created the Telnames Partner Network. When you create or change contact information in your Telname, your information is now automatically distributed to many of the UK’s leading local listings directories, including Yahoo! Local, Bing Local, 118 Information and 192 .com. So with Telnames, you can be confident that your business information is up-to-date and listed correctly, ready for customers to access.

New features for your Telname Pdf

You can now save up to three PDF documents on your Telname, so if you’ve got a variety of things that you want to share and which you can’t fit into one, easy-to-view document on a mobile device, you’ve now got more options to work with.

We're constantly watching the search engines and are working behind the scenes to make sure that your Telname is set up to get the best results it can when it’s well populated and being shared. When was the last time you updated your Telname? Click here now to give it a tweak and read our FAQs on how you can set your Telname up to get the best results it can.

In the next few months, we'll be looking at further tweaks and new services to help you get the best out of your Telname, so keep an eye on Twitter, Facebook or our blog, all of which can be accessed at telnames.tel.

As always, thank you for being a Telnames customer and, if you have any questions, comments or requests, please do contact us using the information at telnames.tel.

    Kind Regards,

    Telnames.com
    support@telnames.com

P.S. Tell us why you’re using Telnames or tweet us your .tel and you could be a profiled customer!

What I don't understand is why Telnic invested $35,000,000 for creating such a service. It looks nice, but where is the advantage to use the DNS for it?
Wouldn't it be better if Telnic creates services that nobody else can create, because Telnic is the only service than can use the DNS because of the ICANN agreement? A mobile service like Telnames doesn't need the DNS.

Using the DNS for the offered solution is like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut. Telnic could revolutionize the telecommunications market, but instead Telnic bakes rather small rolls.
Where is the creativity and where is the innovation to use the DNS? I always thought the DNS should create services that haven't existed before, but Telnames is only one more competitor among many others.

consider possibly that TELnic needs some/any business model to bring in nuts, even if cracked with an sledgehammer ?  ;+)
And Telnames is one vertical business only, mainly focused on UK for BTL/street marketing

That is the long-term goal. Telnic can't be blamed for the public needing so much time to understand the big changes in mobile technology. Telnic tried to convince the public and most people didn't understand the potential. But Telnic understood it will take more time and meanwhile Telnic has created an additional amazing offer (Telnames). The original plan can always be reactivated as soon the time has come.

    Agree.
But on the other hand being right too early , or failing to value /monetize one's own "invention" is also equally wrong .
    Especially when money matters.

The graal is still to find how Joe public can used in everyday life some valuable basic outputs of whatever Advanced , Visionnary or,  why-not trivial,  invention .
TELnames might be technically trivial  and therefore despairs techies, but marketingwise it can make  its way although nothing revolutionary.

Additionnaly, TELNAMES may serve to practiclly educate some Joes public , to "concepts " of mobile responsive central digital identity , agnostic to walled garden OTT & Social Networks ... evolving or sometimes passing by ( do you know / remember ... MySpace ? where finally you own no digital assets )

Of course nothing exciting for portfolio owners at this level.
May be next stages will be more attractive and more fun ... with more TELs freed by divesting from incumbant self-destroying TEL portfolios...

telnames is showing some really useful additions, fairly well implemented too (i think the "passbook" coupon was particularly well done) for the singular type of client/customer

pro.tel just needs a similar kind of attention, but on the "pro" level
telnames and telnic are not taking on that role currently.
the product is to be used as is.

...but realistically, the pro.tel needs further tools/options.
who will take up that role is the wait n see situation.
