    New Directory Re-Launched

Someone has the right approach anyway, successful or not !

    http://www.prweb.com/releases/prweb2...web9629421.htm

    Gee, what a concept.

Registered and added a profile. Suggested they use .Tel to both login and to grab content info from DNS to save typing.

There are thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) of similar directories available on the net.
They have been there for many years.
Some are free. Some are with paid subscription.
Some of them even offer verified information at premium price.

But one has to identify the difference between what is an online people search/business search directory and what is all about .tel.

They are TWO different concepts. Miles apart.

I am not going to explain it, because I believe most of the forum members are aware of it.
If they are NOT. Too bad. They are wasting their time.

    ++++

P.S. This is my personal opinion.

The only thing you could explain is YOUR position, not TELNIC's where this thread is concerned.

    http://4localtv.com/duh.jpg

When you look at this picture, and the one in the other thread with the PRIMARY TWO selling points CLEARLY stated to the world,
remember that these come from TELNIC - not you, me, or anyone else.

TELNIC authored the statements as PRIMARY explanations, so you don't need to explain anything you're thinking of anyway, it'ssecondary, at best - Especially when compared to the thread purpose, which is PRIMARY purpose reference.

Now, we know that there are many peripheral benefits and features, but they are still peripheral, and MILES apart from the PRIMARY mission ...

    ... MILES apart.

Well, IMHO, someone will soon start a new directory for .teldomains (to search teldomains, not tel pages). We did start one with the very first tel related domain name which I secured back in 2006. The name of the directory is www.dottelregistry.com. It is kind of neglected at present due to other work load.

We might Re-Launch it with mobile phone access if there is any demand for searching tel domains. Unfortunately we missed the domain name "teldomains.com" which would have attracted more people just for the sake of the name.

However, as far as the telpages.com are concerned, that's the future I believe.
Good that Telnic realized it even as an afterthought.

Well, again, these are all my personal views.

All well and good, but yet again, afterthoughts don't come BEFORE the sales of .TEL domains and/or .TEL pages, which have ALWAYS been SYNONYMOUS BY DESIGN and by definition, nice try though.

What we have is a CLEAR case of BEFORE thoughts and BEFORE statements intended to EARN REVENUE in sales of .tel domains and .tel pages which are included in the same advertisement with the promoted global directory. Before. Together. Period. End of Story.

Any attempt to "spin" these two very clear primary points is futile, and laughable.

The right approach being the directory, not the company or Purple Pages per se.

Yellow Pages, Facebook, etc. is all about membership with a member directory, their approach is right.

.TEL is not about membership, even though it started that way by it's big solicitation.

Right solicitation, and a great membership lineup to start, but a big fail thereafter, to date.

    added definition:

Membership - a group of persons associated by some common tie or occupation and regarded as an entity.

.tel ownership is the common tie, we can all agree on that, but regarded as an entity is TelPages ... Fail.

The one AND two as solicited is critical, not just the one. Facebook and Yellow Pages and the masses get it anyway.

Some reading about the quandry of the Yellow Pages and branding.

Great article Mark, thanks for posting !

Good to see some common sense insight.

The validation in the first comment is gold.

    Put even simpler:

    "Membership" = "Members" + "Ship"

    So,

"Membership" = ".TEL Registrations" + ".TEL Directory"

    Currently,

"Membership" = "Skeleton Crew" + "Wreck"

As any Admiral, Captain, etc. can tell you - the better the Ship, the better the Passenger count !

Right now we have a bunch of drowning swimmers and a capsized Boat.

Any news on a good Ship yet ?

Facebook toppled MySpace, why ? "A Better Ship".

Yelp is toppling Yellow Pages, why ? "A Better Ship".

Google toppled Yahoo, why ? "A Better Ship".

The People and Businesses are all the same in all these circumstances, you do the Math !
