Until end of this month Telnames will have acquired about 1,000 customers!

You may ask what the value of 1,000 domains in the internet industry is!

But you have to consider how much marketing effort Telnames have done since its launch 3 months ago on the 25th April: almost nothing!
They have only created a blog on Tumblr and a profile on Pinterest; nothing more!
Telnames even refuses talking about their product in public!

Which other service could sell their unknown product to 1,000 people without any advertisement only within one quarter?
Doesn’t matter how high (or better how low) the price for a .tel domain at Telnames is, that is not the criteria since SMBs are willing to pay several hundred pounds for a similar service.

The interesting question is what would happen if Telnames will be advertised properly and will draw attention?

It's called history repeated for a reason, so the exact same thing?

More customers = more requests aka pestering aka pressure to add things they don't want to invest time and money in, and a high price keeps away frivolous and needy people who expect something and everything from almost nothing?

More attention = more scrutiny so they maybe waiting until they have more themes and extra additions and bug fixes before moving onto other marketing techniques for telnames that would draw a less content none status quo customer.

Telnames seems to be doing everything so far by word of mouth I suppose with existing customers. I do like their Pinterest Page. Visually trumpeting the sites with commentary is a good thing, one arrow in their quiver. Would like to see the same for the "professional" flavour of .Tel too especially with sites on the new templates.
