    Forum Migration

    All,

We will be migrating to a new forum during the week of the 5th January.

The url will remain the same, but all content and messages on this forum will be lost as they cannot be migrated to the new forum. As such, if you have any messages or threads that you wish to keep, please make a copy before the end of the year.

    Thanks,
    Aled

    Aled12-15-2014 09:41 AM

Boracay, there won't be any threads migrated, so if there is any content you want to keep, please make a copy before the end of the year.

    boracay.tel12-18-2014 07:42 AM

really? i can't believe that such important information that can be found in this forum is going to be removed

    such as this thread...
    http://telnic.org/forum/showthread.php?t=2060

we need these tools referenced and info about them!!
mark? is there any easy way to keep these vital discussions?

    Mark Kolb (Kprobe)12-18-2014 09:14 PM

I think it is best to keep the core informative threads intact so please migrate them

    Aled12-19-2014 09:10 AM

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear. There is no mechanism for migrating from this forum to the new forum. If there is information which you refer to, please make a copy. You are welcome to add any information you feel would be useful to others to a thread in the new forum post migration if you wish.

    Mark Kolb (Kprobe)12-20-2014 02:46 PM

Aled, are you able to at least archive the contents and then allow us to view privately?
    Mark

    Aled12-21-2014 09:20 AM

    No, I'm afraid not, Mark.

some info on telnics website even refers to crucial threads. these tools have no other resource instructions other than the forum discussions
(see at bottom the referenced thread). this information details how the stored dns .tel data is integrated into existing websites. these are perhaps the most significant tool(s) in use, the "map", and the "contact us" tools

    such as...

To embed your .tel into your webpage quickly and easily, simply add this snippet to your web page.

    [/size]
    Code:
    <iframe src="http://hosted.telnic.org/cgi-bin/mapcrawl/mapyourdottel-iframe.cgi?d=yourname.tel&sd=0" width="700" height="550" frameborder="0" />
    [size]

To adjust the map display, enter the following parameters:

d - The .tel domain to display ("yourname.tel" in the example)
md - Maximum number of folder levels to search. Default: 5
ml - Maximum number of locations displayed. Default: 20
sd - Set to 0 to follow "Go-to" links to other .tel domains and search there. Default: 1
mz - Maximum zoom level of Google Maps. Default: 16
width - Map width in pixels. Default: 700
height - Map height in pixels. Default: 550
info - For advanced users, you can replace the HTML code that is in the info window by passing in an HTML snippet. Please seehttp://telnic.org/forum/showpost.php...4&postcount=47 for more info.[/size]

As it seems that nobody else was left except of Kash. Then nobody but he should do all that work now.

He also now could login in this forum under his real name - not nickname, and begin to answer here to various questions of Telnic customers.

Huw Stead will answer questions through customerservice@telnic.org; probably from his home office.

Don't forget you can access the HUGE amount of technical information re .TEL at Telnic's recently deleted old forum thanks to TelTalk saving it to http://www.teltalk.org/c11-telnic-s-official-forum-closed-on-14th-january-2015

You currently need to login to access this section - hopefully this can be changed soon - with Henri / Justin / Aled all having gone recently there's not many staff left now who could object to this saving of the old Telnic forum threads.

Unless of course Kash decides to join TelTalk forum to have his say on the matter !
