Thanks Aled, I'm sure this will improve SERPS, just so I'm sure. Can you confirm what is going in the H1 tag, Page Title or Header? Does the link title tag contain the "description" part of a link that we enter? What does selectable contacts mean? Understand the canonical tag will point to the non www version of the url, is that correct? Thanks again |
Hi Aled, The title tags for links appears to only use the default labels i.e. go to for a folder link and email for an email link. Are there plans to actually pick up and use our label and/or long label values for these titles? The google maps is definately better, although I now find some positions aren't quite where I thought I had set them Thanks! |

On viewing telproxy source code the links title tags on dialaroom.tel are showing the long labels I entered and the H1 tags are taking the page title. Great news! Header info appears in H3 tags. H2 doesn't appear to be used. Still not sure what is meant by selectable contacts? |

Would you be so kind to explain in plain words, what it is? As I am not a web-master or programmer, and I think some forum member are not also (and in future the most of TEL-users will be also not), at the moment it is not clear what it means and how to use it. Thank you. |

Perhaps it hasn't propagated to all .tels yet, will check wales-dialaroom.tel. |
Just to clarify some of the updates that have raised some questions: 1. Use of H1 tags within the proxy - the title of the page is now contained in H1 tags, so that search engines who use this can identify it as the title 2. Use of title tags within links -title tags, which can assist with SEO are now added for titles of external links 3. Selectable contacts - you can now highlight the value of a contact to copy it. This wasn't possible previously 4. Introduction of Canonical tags to ensure that all search results within Google are attributed to the same .tel page - it was previously possible for a search engine to identify your www.website.tel version of your website as separate to your website.tel version. The canonical tag identifies the website.tel as the only version to prevent this duplication 5. Introduction of geo meta tags to assist with location based searching - these are tags that assist search engines which include a "where" search to identify the location of a .tel contact more accurately |
.tel can now be said to be a truly seo friendly tld, with it's inherent speed, geotags and now title and H tags, in time, with the right content from .tel owners it should be at the top of the serps in every search engine. Well done Telnic, as my Grandfather would have said, " you don't stop in when you are going out." |
Aled Can you tell me how to get the wordpress icons to show up for my blogs? They are not hosted at wordpress or blogger. Some are at GoDaddy and some at 1and1.com so I am not sure if it will capture the icon. Thank you |
Triton, it needs a string to match against to associate the logo, for wordpress I believe it's looking for –“.wordpress.com” in the URL. |
Thanks Aled So to clarify, if I have my WP blogs at a hosting provider then the icons will not show up. In the future, could there be a check box or some way to get the WP logo for a site that has a url like www.onephonebill.net which is a WP blog hosted at 1and1.com? |
That's correct. I'll make a note of your suggestion to see if it's something we could offer in the future. Thanks, Aled |
Roger that Thanks |
Highlighting the values and being able to copy them easier is good to have it back again. |

Wow !!! fantastic...... I am late to reply this thread but it was really a great updates. Thanks Aled for giving us more reasons to buy a .tel |
Thanks Aled, .tel was an Seo Tool before but i guess with the new updates it's even more improved. looking at .tel as 2 things now ( personal/Corporate use or SEO tool ) |
Has anyone seen any improvements in Google search since the new H1 tags went into place? My sites have not been indexed since so I cant tell. Overall, I drop about 10 spots a day so I am hoping for a jump with this. |
