Private Data - request for enhanced OPERATIONs We had a request from a leading university to provide them a communication system that can be accessed by
And the system is to be managed through TELcp by
Well, in short, this is a three tier communication system where one set of contact details for the general public/any visitor to the tel domain and two separate private data systems for two different groups. However, the 3rd category will have multiple groups. In this situation, the category tree will look like as follows.
The administrator of this tel domain would need a system that he can handle every function through TELcp control panel interface without visiting the CTH control panel. To meet the requirements of this university there should be a proper mechanism with OPERATIONs (in TelHosting Client SOAP API) such as
We have explained to this university that certain operations are not available at present to meet their requirement and that we can only provide them with a system similar to that of www.telcp.org which provides a similar private data system for community clubs with the administrator handling few "TelFriends" operations with visits to the CTH control panel. Unfortunately, we can not reveal the name of this university but you may guess which one it could be by visiting our twitter urlwww.twitter.com/telcp. We often talk about the power of dot tel. Yes, it has lot of untapped powerful manipulations. Very powerful private communication systems could be developed if operations similar to what we mentioned above are available to the developers through the API. We mentioned only few such operations that has stopped us from developing a very powerful communication system as requested by a leading university in the world. So, Telnic, it is over to you to decide to provide more enhanced OPERATIONs through the TelHosting Client SOAP API to tap the real power of the dot tel. We keep posting these requests, because we are aware that no other TLD can offer such powerful features! Kind Regards |

For me it seems the requirements of your request would be possible to realize already today by using the CTH control panel instead of TELcp: 1.) Invite all related people to TelFriends and connect them to the .tel. 2.) Create the groups mentioned in your post above and collect all the TelFriends accounts for every group (on the second tab in the CTH for privacy). 3.) Set all non-public entries within the .tel domain on "private" and connect every single entry to the group which should get access. Do to the lack of usability of TelFriends this could be a hassle to administrate, but at least it is possible! Another disadvantage is you have to customize the privacy option for EVERY entry. I agree with you this process is not comfortable and would need enhancement by Telnic, e. g. improvement of connecting to friends and privacy options for subdomains instead for single contacts. Okay, my guess is the University of Colombo. |

It appear to us that you are not aware of what is TELcp. TELcp does much more than what CTH can offer. There are certain features that CTH will never offer. TELcp's main feature is the ability to allow tel Users to manage their own tel pages without any assistance from the tel domain owner. For more info please visit www.telcp.info |
The TelFriends API supports all of those operations. |

Thanks for your comment. Yes, very well aware of this and all of its functionality. Telhosting API and TelFriends API are created for two different networks and they are independent from each other. Our request is based on the requirement to handle TelFriends functions (ref to features of TelFriends available at CTH presently) is that they be made available through Telhosting API and thereby access them through the existing OpenAuth Authentication. And also we are aware that lot of planning and coding is involved from Telnic to achieve this. Yes. it is not an easy task. But, we believe, its worth the trouble as this handy feature will be very useful for the developers to create more innovative and powerful feature rich tools/services, second to none, for the benefit of dot tel and make it difficult for any possible non dot tel competitors to imitate such services in the future. Cheers! |
