Using whois privacy with a .Tel

Does using Whois Privacy restrict the use of a .Tel in any way, do all the functions still work?

    teltheworld,

It depends on how the whoisprivacy is implemented by your provider. If they provide a masked email address, but then forward valid email on to you, then this will not affect any functions. If, however, you cannot be reached by the email address that will be used, then there are two issues:

    - You are in breach of the .tel AUP (acceptable use policy), which states that you must be able to be reached through the registrant email address
    - TelFriends will not work for you as this uses the Registrant email address to validate ownership

If you are an individual (rather than a business), you can opt out of displaying your WHOIS for .tel domains, so that only your name is shown.
