    Need a back door

I desperately need a back door into adding telephone numbers into my .tel. As I've said before if your .tel has more than a couple of hundred folders at root level it takes an age to add anything to them.

If, as one of mine does, you have a couple of thousand folders at root level, it takes forever, that's if it will do it at all, sometime firefox locks up, chrome gives warnings out every minute and IE won't always show google map.

I have about 500 different numbers I need to add to different folders, each one (if the browser lets me) takes at least 5 minutes, that's about 40 hours.

Had a thought about doing a backup, amending the export.xml file and restoring it again. Anyone tried this or know an even easier way.

Thanks in advance for any tips.

I'll add it to bulk insert if you like. I can have it ready tonight. That tool is designed to accommodate any new record type in minutes. Let me know,

Thanks mark, gladly pay for that, have tried bulk update before, but not for this purpose.[/size]

The other way is to use bulk directory populate with a text file,
    eg
    SF: argyll.scotland.dialaroom.tel
    TE: argyll club= 44-4-4-4-4-4
    SF: dumfries-and-galloway.scotland.dialaroom.tel
TE: Call to book a room at the dandg B&B= 44-5-4-4-4-4
    etc
If you have a source file I can probably convert into bulk format easily.

Thanks Mark, not sure what you mean by sourcefile.

@Aled - is there anyway to evoke the wizard to add one record to one folder in your .tel?

I have insert the map with all locations of one of my domain ofertascasarural.tel, but only I can see 20 locations, I have tried to change the ml, but I think I have made something wrong.
ml - Maximum number of locations displayed. Default: 20

I have tried to change the ml="30" but I think something is wrong, what?:

    Code:
    <iframe src="http://hosted.telnic.org/cgi-bin/mapcrawl/mapyourdottel-iframe.cgi?d=ofertascasarural.tel&sd=0" ml="30" width="700" height="550" frameborder="0" />
    [size]

Someone have put the map with many locations, and with the iframe that I can see, to check it?[/size]

[QUOTE=dialaroom;14865]Thanks Mark, not sure what you mean by sourcefile.

The origin of your 500 phone numbers, was assuming it was a file.

Steve, Bulk Insert (not bulk directory populate) has been updated to insert a telephone number across multiple subdomains. Your very fast back door awaits.

dialaroom, which wizard are yo referring to? The startup wizard is only shown if you .tel is not populated, so it can only populate at the top level to get new/inexperienced users started.[/size]

@Aled - Realise the wizard is for pre-populating new tels. Thanks.

@Mark Kolb (Kprobe) - Bulk Insert takes literally a couple of seconds to do what took 5 minutes in the Control Panel, and all for a few pennies a month. With instant access to every .tel and their individual sub-folders in any hosting account, I'd highly recommend to everyone. Thanks again Mark.
