http://dottel.net/ say no domains are dropping now.

    http://teldomains.co/?go=drops say domains are dropping.

I wonder, mean it that http://dottel.net/ began manipulating data for making better image for Telnic?

No, it's just a technical failure which was not corrected.

BuyATel.com from the same webmaster is also empty for weeks.

He has just stopped providing fresh data.

There are 2 reasons why .tel is losing support: 1.) the product launched in 2009 is still in beta 2.) Telnic doesn't do anything to change this.

Dottel.net has maybe given up. I emailed them - no response. Pity because it was a useful resource.

.tel is supposed to work without a website. But you are right anyway: .tel is not used for phone services. Since Telnic sells .tel as website, it needs to be developed.
The alternative is Telnic finally starts services different than other websites and provides phone services. But then Telnic needs strong partners for it.
Telnic said partners won't be approached before reaching critical mass. So starting to develop .tel is the only option!

Maybe when people decide to leave and find if they can't sell their site they should .rar it and send it to alex/teltalk? perhaps then he can designate someone at a later date to revive it as a community project or setup a repository for all this collected coding so others can continue in their place.
    ..
Aka open sourcing your work, because if you hate telnic/.tel and leave don't hate us along with it and walk away without giving an open for all gesture so that your time became worth more than just financial, aka it's not our fault.
    ..
As always the URL don't matter with the right content/service.

The situation is explained by dottel.net in the post http://telnic.org/forum/showthread.php?p=25572 on Telnic's forum.

Of course you will need to be both registered and logged-in to Telnic's forum to be able to read the post.

I believe is it more effective to provide all relevant information on a website which is publicly available. For this reason I try to publish all important news about .tel on this forum.

Therefore please find today's comment from Dottel.net here:
dottel.net wrote:sorry folks we've been away - there was a period where we had a problem getting the zone file to process the drops. We did however fix the overall count and running total several months ago.

Net result however was there is a period where we don't have the drops for that particular day. The overall count and running total is correct though and we've checked through the logs and can confirm the daily drops will start showing up automatically soon once we pass over the blank days.

    Sorry for any inconvenience!
